What's your background?

Why are you all so opposed to the possibility of the existence of God?

Heh. I’m too high to answer this question.

I rather not get into the topic of religion, but its the Bible. Its total, complete, bullshit. Do you understand that in the Old Testament, if you wore a peice of clothing made of more than one type of material, you should be hung. I’ve read it myself. And the “New Testament”. Yeah, lets revise THE HOLY WORD OF OUR ALLMIGHTY GOD, CUZ HE TOLD US TO. WE HEAR HIM. The Bible is basically made to make people beleive they’ll receive worse punsihment after death, so they have to be good. Its like Christmas with Santa. Exept on a larger scale. and lets face it, Santa’s REAL.

…right.
Anyway
I’m part Italian, part Irish and German (Italian:Mom Irish/German:Dad)
Uhhh
Religion: Stevolothism (In other words, whatever happens after life… happens.)
And no, I don’t believe it’s a real religion :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m part Italian, Catholic, and 15 in three days. I’m from Visalia, CA. I’ve lived there all my life (And in the same house.) I go to a brand new high school, (Inaugural Class.)

A bunch of my friends have a running joke where we believe in “YOURNAME-ism” So I’m a strict follower of Joeism, if that makes any sence, and it shouldn’t :stuck_out_tongue:

Seriously, I believe what I think I should believe (if that makes sence…), and I don’t follow any one belief system. Pick and choose to your own liking I say.

Heh yeah man, I hear that.

I’m from Canada, my mom’s side is English, I dunno about my dad’s, I guess some French cause I have a French last name. And I don’t believe in any religion, I guess I’m an athiest.

Mostly Norweigen, Irish, and German. My mom and dad are Catholic and Agnostic respectively and raised me as both.

I don’t believe in a God because:

  1. I was raised in a Catholic household and went to Catholic school. Fortunately, I avoided being raped by priests.

  2. God has never spoken to me, I was told he should have.

  3. The name of God and Jesus has been used to commit innumerable acts of violence and other actions that go against “His” will. I cannot believe that an omniscient all-powerful being does not use his power to physically correct these incidents, and submit that the entire argument that it is because he granted his creations free will is complete bullshit made to cover up the fact that he would correct them if he was there, but he isn’t.

  4. Absolute zero empyrical evidence.

  5. “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”

I refuse to acknowledge that I am an abomination.

100% Chinese
Race:Han
descent from Wu(222-280) royal family

Sun is royal :open_mouth:

Most Chinese familiy names were royal at one point or another :stuck_out_tongue:

Thank you for also explaining my reasons for disliking religion far better than I could.

I made a new thread so this one isn’t ruined by the threat of religious debate/argument.

Thanks, Demigod. I really didn’t want this to turn into an argument or anything.

And I forgot to state my beliefs. I don’t actually go to church or belong to a certain faith, but I know there’s a higher power somewhere out there. Though I’m certain this higher power didn’t intend for us humans to waste time of our lives arguing about exactly what this power is. There are better things to be doing.

I am mostly German, although I have some Welsh and some Hungarian blood in me, too. The auburn hair of my Hungarian ancestors appears as auburn highlights in my light brown hair. The silvery streak, to my knowledge, is from the Welsh family. I have no prestigious background; my family comes from a blend of peasantry and bourgeoisie.

I am of no real religion, but I follow spiritual path of my own creation, which tries to emphasise harmony with nature. I do not believe in any god, although I do sense spirits in both living and non-living things. I occasionally use Tarot Cards or runestones not to tell the future, but to explore myself spiritually and develop a greater connexion with my true nature. I also celebrate certain ancient Germanic equinox and solstice holidays, most notably Yule and Easter (the word Easter is actually the name of a ancient Saxon fertility goddess).

I’m 1/2 Mexican, (But I don’t know a word of Spanish) and the rest is white, Japanese, Chinese, Scottish and maybe even Mongolian.
I think I’m Catholic, but I only acknowledge the ten commandments, I prefer to believe in Kharma(I think that’s it)

I’m 1/2 Italian, 1/4 Ukrainian and 1/4 Russian, so basically I’m just a European mix. I look VERY Italian though, mostly concering the skin tone and body hair (I’ve been called an Ass-squatch on multiple occasions).

Dealing with religious, I’m agnostic. No one’s really ever really given me a good reason to believe in a god or deity, so I simply don’t. I do have a certain amount of respect for religion, as I know many people who use it as a positive outlet for their emotions and efforts.

As for spirituality, I’m a believer in Karma. I think that if you commit yourself to good and righteous deeds, good things will happen to you in turn. This is half common sense, and half a belief in some sort of universal “equilibrium”.

And just to clear a few things up:

Atheism - Is the full disbelief in God(s)

Agnostic - Means you think its impossible to really determine whether there is a God

Hmm…

French nobility, prostitutes, and pirates.

Yeah. I’m pretty much from Quebec all right.
