Yes, let’s all get into a big circle and smell flowers and sing and drink Pepsi, because if there are no soldiers no one’s going to get into any religious or ideological fights.
Hades, you know that several people on the boards are in the military, so you were very disrespectful with your “professional murderers” comment. Also, militaries are still needed. Like I said earlier, without militaries, bigger weapons would be used (such as nuclear weapons), people like Osama bin Laden would be able to do whatever they want, Israel would have been destroyed a long time ago. They aren’t an old necessity, they are a current one.
I didn’t say we aren’t trained to kill, I’m jsut saying we aren’t professional murderers you dipshit. We are professional killers, but that is juust one aspect of the job; police also kill. The state can kill people. Murder is more a of vial killing with motive. Also, you are wrong about why people join. VERY few join to kill. Many join for other reasons. They join to help pay for school; they join because the stuff is cool to do in training is fun or cool, but don’t want to go and do it for real; they do it for discipline; they do it to serve and protect their country; they do it because their family has a history in the service; etc.
Well, that last part is Ontario. I’m going by American law. Iraq is also a war zone, so the situations arise more. Also, a lot of the deaths are caused by the insurgents. Troops kill insurgents, insurgents kill troops and Iraqis. You can’t compare a murder rate to a death rate in a war, of course the death rate will be higher. Also, what I was saying about the shooting is that troops hcan only shoot if the person has shown to have the ability AND intent to cause harm to coalition forces. A cop can shoot if there is good reason to believe that the person has a weapon and will use it and that they are in great danger.
Infonick, your little rant and flamefest didn’t do anything to disprove my previous statement. Ironically enough, I’ve never even seen 9/11 and I’m very far from the left as far as my politics go. I’ve seen firsthand, time and time again, the type of people America gets to fight for us. PLEASE DON’T FLAME ME INFONICK I have several friends who are in Kuwait and Iraq right now. You can attack me for whatever reason that makes you feel more secure at night or whatever, but I’m not going to stoop to that level.
I wasn’t trying to disprove your point. I’m saying your fucking idiot for stereotyping. Stereotyping is never good. Also, if you think I’m flaming you now, you’ve got another thing coming. Also, your trying to make yourself seem more mature and superior (which is disproven by yoru stereotyping) might annoy me if you weren’t such an idiot. Don’t worry though, I don’t think your a jackass anymore. I know you’re retarded, so you can’t help it. Well, I’m glad we cleared that up. Also, if you looked at my other posts, you’d know that I usually get along with other people. With Hades, I know I’ll never change his mind. When he sets his mind to something, no one can change his miond, even if they held a gun up to his head. However, you seem to be anorrowed minded in all things dealing with people (such as why your were called a racist).
Ok first of all…North Korea knows better than to actually go to war with another country, especially the US or Japan, regardless of nukes. Kim Jong Il wants to stay in power as long as he can…and provoking war in Asia would spell doom for him. China is reluctant to back them up because NK is actually a threat to their continental supremacy, and the fact that NK doesn’t recognize China’s complete support in the Korean War still irks the Chinese. Japan is more capable of military effectiveness than most think. South Korea, though still with the Sunshine Policy, is still ready to defend itself from communism and the North. The US is still ready to fulfill an obligation to not allow NK to pull any shit. Besides, that whole bilateral agreement shit is just a trap set by NK to isolate the US and ignore SK, Japan, and most importantly of all China. We’re a little smarter than that. Kim Jong Il doesn’t have the guts to do anything b/c he knows we’d annihilate him if he did…and he’s threatening to try to put us in a weak spot negotiating. The US can fight and win, but they can also talk on a table and usually end up the winners. The USSR and China pulled the same crap just so they could bring us to the table to negotiate because they knew that we’d be a force to reckon with. This is another tirade from NK trying to get our full attention and try and play us for suckers.
P.S. And Hades can go fuck himself with a hot iron stick. You live in Canada dude…that’s enough said.
so you were very disrespectful with your “professional murderers” comment.
Oh no, I was disrespectful to professional murderers. Woe.
I didn’t say America and America alone should disband it’s military. That would be extremely bad and stupid.
It’s like this: Either the entire world has a military, or no one does. There is no in between, like you said, and I agree with that. Without a military middle eastern extremists would run rampant and that would not be nice. The point is, there are better ways to solve things than lining up and commiting mutual suicide on a large scale.
Yes, let’s all get into a big circle and smell flowers and sing and drink Pepsi, because if there are no soldiers no one’s going to get into any religious or ideological fights.
No, let’s not. I’m a pacifist, not a fucking hippie. Though the free sex idea is very, VERY appealing.
P.S. And Hades can go fuck himself with a hot iron stick. You live in Canada dude…that’s enough said.
You represent the US military. As much as I hate them, don’t disgrace them with your elementary remarks. They do a more than good enough job of disgracing themselves already.
The thing is, people in the military aren’t professional murderers. In fact, many people go through their time never once seeing combat. There are also sthe reasons I lsited for why people join and why you are wrong. Police do a very similar thing as the military, they are authorized to kill if the situation arises. However, police keep us safe. The military does the same thing, just from people outside the country. Hell, almost everyone in my unit would rather go to Asia and help aide the countries most affected by the Tsunami than go to Iraq. Many also join the military just to travel and see the world. When I finished my job school, many of the active duty guys went to Okinawa Japan and were excited since they got to see other parts of the world. Bottomline si that calling military personnel “professional murderers” is ignorant and stupid.
EDIT: There will always be problems that need the military. World peace won’t break out because countries disbanded their militaries. If anything, the world will become a more dangerous place since those that want to cause harm will have no one to stand in their way. Under the Articles of Confederation, America didn’t and couldn’t have a military and it was a miserable failure. A rebellion almost destroyed America because there was no one to suppress it. The Articles of Confederation were the most democratic setup in history and wanted a peaceful setup, but it didn’t work since conflicts naturally arise between people.
If the military tries to be police, then they’re not a military. They’re police.
Yeah, calling him Canadian, that’s a great point Herr. And right after you bitched at the Pickle dude for sterotyping too. Ho hum.
Ok, you completely misread what I said.
Nah, I just didn’t really care
What, it’s not like I expect you to quit the marines on my account
All I can do is say what I think and let people dwell on that for a while.
Yep, another thread torn to shreds by Hades and Infonick.
I would LOVE to have a world with no soldiers, no wars, nothing. Unfortunately, that’s not gonna happen, mostly because there are people. As long as a single human survives, there will be war. Even if it’s only one guy, he’ll probably punch himself in the groin and have a mental war with his inner child. Humans just have a need to fight for some reason.
I wasn’t trying to disprove your point. I’m saying your fucking idiot for stereotyping. Stereotyping is never good.
Yes. We get it. You’re rude and/or stupid and want to prove it to me by posting rude and stupid things. You, like just about everyone else in the military that I’ve met, has been in about the same boat as you. PLEASE DON’T FLAME ME INFONICK Its people like you that make the world shake their heads in disgust at the American military. Its fine man, I’m just going to let you keep acting like an immature jock. I tried to be nice about it and you just don’t want to act like an adult.
However, you seem to be anorrowed minded in all things dealing with people (such as why your were called a racist).
When a bunch of narrowminded people sit around and agree that someone else is narrowminded, its usually best to consider the sources. Considering the sources, I wouldn’t lose any sleep over this. PLEASE DON’T FLAME ME INFONICK Contrary to your immature flamefest there, I’m one of the more open-minded people that I know. Ironically enough, I generally enjoyed reading your posts. You normally post things that sound on the money and offer a level head to the discussion. Why you’re acting like a muscleheaded-three-year-old because you have a grudge against…I know not. Like I said…you shouldn’t be losing any sleep over this.
You know Hades, stuff like that is why people discard any good arguments you have on the basis that you act like a jackass. Even when you make good points you have this knack for including unnecessarily offensive comments that don’t make you imposing as you may believe, but really just annoying.
You make good points, would it hurt to not unnecessarily attack anyone when exposing them?
That statement doesn’t mean crap.
Actually it means that infonick is wrong (about me being close minded). Other than that…no, that statement doesn’t mean anything. Oh yeah: PLEASE DON’T FLAME ME INFONICK
I don’t believe it means that either. You can’t really use the logic of “I think this way so it proves you wrong” to uh… prove something wrong.
No its more in the manner of, I am open minded, thus I cannot be close minded. The two contradict each other and I can’t be both at once. Oops…PLEASE DON’T FLAME ME INFONICK
Yeah, but you’re saying that you’re open minded. Consider the source, I think it may be biased. Now if other people were saying that about you, then yes, it might be a logical arguement.
Oh ho ho, people can so totally can be open and closed minded at the same time.
What Epic means is that just saying that you are open-minded doesn’t prove the fact that you are open-minded.
EDIT: Too slow.
