Sorry, I only jsut noticed this post. I’m not sure if Barret being the first black person in the FF series is anything to be proud of…
I liked the “other than the black mage” part myself .^-^.
Black Mage wasn’t even black, in the end.

Note his appearance as Black Wizard for FF1.
Whoah! I thought I was the only person to notice Lucil was an interesting lady despite the garters.
Speaking of garters, I’m putting in an obscure vote for Lulu. It took me a while to get past the fanboy-candy, but I finally noticed what she was like behind the boobs…
Sharp mind, sharp tongue, went on TWO blasted pilgrimages trying to keep Yuna from sacrificing herself, and enough firepower to blow up Bevelle. :too bad:
Even when female characters are allowed to be strong, they’re so seldom allowed to be blunt without being portrayed as b----es. Okay, maybe she was one, but at least Lulu got past the “only guys can be cranky yet cool” censor!
Sephiroth,cloud vivi,and vincent
my favorite guys are
Ricard Highwind - he inspired my favorite job the dragoon
Bartz Klauser - the second best FF main character ever
Locke Cole - the second best FF thief ever
Zidane Tribal - the best FF main character and thief ever
my favorite girls are
Freya Crescent - she added more abilities to the dragoon job
Ashelia B’Nargin Dalmasca - because it turned out she was more of the main character than Vann
Ah man…has no one said Gilgamesh from FFV (Or FFXII) ? He is my Favourite ff character ever (even if he isn’t a member of your party at any time), just cause of his sheer coolness, followed by Beatrix (FFIX) and Galuf (FFV)
:moogle: Have to say Nanaki,(RedXIII), cause he is a beast, he’s the only playable character in FF ever to walk on 4 legs, and he’s in my favorite FF game.
I’m trying to balance my response, as FF6 is my all time most beloved game.
Also with the addition of Anthologies and Chronicles I’m going to include Chrono Trigger as an honorary FF.
Top ten in order from least to most favorite.
10. Anima. Ok it’s a summon, but I love every second its on screen. If Lavos was a summon I’d swap him in here, but as is it don’t make the list. eh, what can I do?
9. Gilgamesh. Always a boss of some sort, but with killer music and recently even a sidekick straight out of the Sumerian mythology that he comes from.
8. Cecil :enguard: . The main character of the first FF I ever played. He was also both of the coolest classes in almost any fantasy universe.
7. Kefka :mwahaha: . How many bad guys actually win? I’d also argue any one who chooses Sephiroth over Kefka bases the choice more on who they would actually like to be. Lets face it who wants to be an insane clown? Save for the posy.
6/5. Mog :moogle: and Vivi. Both are wonderful soft hearted, cute little powerhouses. I really can’t choose.
4. Auron. His design, Usually undead stop aging. don’t they?
3. Robo. Sure Frog :no2: looked cooler and had far better music, but when have you seen so much heart and tragedy in the life of a robot?
2. Tifa. The first time I was ever attracted to a fictional character. She loved Cloud even knowing all his faults and even when he had no eyes for her
- Locke :thud: . Although not so much any more, when I first played this game I was very much like him. And my own self absorbed egocentric nature demands the character I’m most like to be my favorite. Thats right I’m a 15 pixel tall blue thief.
Cloud, Tifa and Vivi.
Probably Prishe from FF11. She has attitude, 1000 years of knowlege and experience, mystery, and power, all compressed into the body of an 11ish year old. The Abhorent One is definately an interesting character. I really enjoyed exploring her character and story.
CoP was a lot of fun. Well, except dealing with unreliable party members. But that added to the challenge.
yeah it was. I have to do it all again since i quit the game for 7 months and now came back, LOL. But wasn’t it a fascinating story ? I really enjoyed it a lot more than the Aht Urhgan story. A few of the Serpent Generals had an interesting tale, but i didn’t care too much for it all.
Yeah, it was an interesting tale. I ran CoP in '06, I hear they nerfed it again. I still think level capping the missions was a bad idea. I guess it added variety, and because of it I ended up taking NIN to 75, but managing all that gear was a pain in the ass.
When I quit early last year, I had done all the ToAU missions that were released up to that point. I don’t really understand why they didn’t finish the expansion before they released it. I was like, “what’s next?”, and realized that nothing was next because the missions weren’t done yet. Seriously? It kinda killed the whole thing for me.
Not to mention the ridiculous concepts of merits and experience loss, creating an endless grind. I want content, not mindless killing of the same mobs for hundreds of hours. And as far as the grinding goes, how frustrating was it that when you did want to merit, camp availability was the biggest factor in your xp rate. Not skill or gear, but how many parties showed up to camp on top of you. Instance that shit already :thud: And all the new gear came out over a year ago, and very few people have been lucky enough to get the drops on the Skadi and other stuff.
I did like Dynamis, pulling was a blast. I didn’t like the drop rates (fucking Glacier).
Beautiful game, horrible support, and having 10% of the server botting a single spawn for three hours a night for a single mob that drops the item you want once a month…(No thanks.) Effort (time involved) not worth the rewards.
I was a Beastmaster, so I wasn’t hurt so much in the XP department when it came to camps. I had the perfect spot. Had the perfect ammount of Pets vs. prey, only a few other BST’s knew about it, and best of all, parties didn’t go there. Solo in that camp, if i remembered to take Regen and Refresh drinks, i could crank out 8000 EXP in an hour. The hard part is starting in the camp, because i have to fight Goblin Toredores, and before people kill them, the Goblins walk around all day and do nothing but buff themselves.
So by the time some silly Adventurer comes along, you have to fight a Goblin with Protect 4, Shell 3, Haste, Regen, Barstone, En-water, Stoneskin, and Blink. However, once you kill them the first time, they are much easier once you get a patter going.
However, i ran into problems when it came to acquiring end-game gear. Pretty much everything i wanted to get and needed to make myself better(aside from Relic) was all “priority” pieces for other jobs. So, no matter how hard i’d try, i would always lose that piece of gear to a NIN, or a SAM, or a PLD, “because their jobs are more important.” So, yeah, i agree with your last comment. I am playing it again on a much less-serious note than before. RL won’t let me play it like i used to, and that’s fine with me.
Vincent Valentine
My favorite would have to be Riona Heartilly
i think my name says all but possibly Squall too - both are no-nosense characters with a skill for leadership
Seymour. The most annoying and persistent guy I’ve met in a game (except for you know who.) Nevertheless despite his annoyance. His evil smile, icky voice and coolest haircut ever makes him my favorite.
my favorite characters are
-almost everyone in ff10
-the turks from ff7
-celes from ff6
-balthier from ff12
and…yea thats about it
