Kain. Need I say more? Oh, and also Tellah, Rubicante, and Auron.
i have yet to finish ff4, mainly becuz i have the gba version, so it gets tiring to play on such a small screen…i only made it to…uh…idk, it was sometime after cecil became a paladin…thats all i remember…
I know I’ve already replied in this thread with my opinions, but having replayed some of the Final Fantasy games, my opinion has now changed, pretty drastically at that. In no particular order my top three protagonists are:
Zidane (FFIX) - Simply put my favourite main character in a FF game, down to earth (gaia), layed back, carefree (anyone who can walk into a creepy dungeony place and stand around scratching their backside has to be pretty carefree), cheerful, simply put, he’s a character I can actually relate to.
Tidus (FFX) - The only other main FF character I would actually say is one of my favourites. I think his character is awesome. He’s in here for similar reasons that Zidane is really.
Cid Highwind (FFVII) - In all honesty, the only reason I was able to finish replaying FF7 was because of the scenes later on with him (my opinion of that game has gone down so much lately). Is there such a character with as high a ‘cool’ factor as Cid? Not that I know of, he’s also solely responsible for (by far) the best scene in the game (and the only scene keeping FF7 afloat in my books) Going into space aboard the rocket.
As for the Antagonists:
Kuja (FFIX) - How can I explain this without using cliches? I’d say the scene at the end of Disc 2 should explain why.
Ultros (FFVI) - An Octupus. Need I say more? Maybe he’s not strictly an antagonist, but he is a recurring boss. Everytime he turns up the game seems to change pace a little, and how priceless is his scene with Relm?:ulty:
Sin (FFX) - Yes it can be argued that its not an antagonist, but as far as I am concerned it’s an entity which brings an air of doom and leaves a trail of death wherever it goes, I’d say it certainly fits the bill to be an antagonist. Basically I say Sin because it’s a giant…whale(?) thing that has more than enough gravitas to completely darken the mood whenever it makes an appearance.
There you have it, my re-done favourite characters list, apologies if it’s a bit long, you did ask why:hahaha; . Oh and apologies for posting twice, but with an opinion change this big it needed to be done.
There were a few I liked about the same. Rydia, Zemus, and most of the main characters from the different FF games.
I say Yuna, however it’s tough cuz I really love FF. Yuna because of how she changed over the two games: FFX and FFX-2. The things she underwent and the trials she endured. There’s that and the amazing cutscene towards the end of the game, and the opening one.
Kefka. But I do like Sephiroth (only for his hair and trenchcoat!!)
Kefka obviously. He is my hero. If i had the same power as him i would do the exact same things he did. He really resonated with me because i am a nihilist as well.
You know i have come to the end of FF VI so many times but i can never bring myself to beat Kefka in the final battle. Why would i want to kill such a great man. Everything i want to be in life is emulated in him.
That’s really not something to be proud of. But whatever.
Aeris. she was very nice and cared a lot about the rest of the party members, and made everyone feel better. her limits pretty much reflect who she is, all her limits heal her party members or they make them stronger
Why like him when you can like Dexter (from the hit TV series …Dexter … on Showtime)
Anyway… I can’t decide between Cecil (Dark Knight form… Paladins are >:gaybear:
and Vincent Valentine.
EDIT : I decided… Mog FFVI is my favourite… He could kick everyones ass… just look at the ads for the game in the magazines.
My favorite ff character is the farmer from FF1. “I am a farmer.” I dare you to find a more dramatic line in anything ever!
Oh! I forgot about him… I change my vote…
“I am error”. A confession of existential failure.
I disagree with you, my friend. “I am a farmer” is a multi-layered statement that cannot even be approached by “I am error.” Farming isn’t just the character’s profession, it’s how he eats, sleeps, and breathes. It is his very essence. He didn’t say that he farms… he said that he is a farmer. I want you to ponder the difference and get back to me. Then you’ll see.
Oh yeah? Eating, sleeping and breathing are a mistake for my pal, Error, just like his every act and whole life. He is error.
wow…ok this is a toss up between celes (for her kick a** ability to absorb magik) and cecil (for his first ability to use darkness, wich they screwed up on advenced, and then turning into a palidin wich was frickin rightous)
Mog, though I didn’t figure this out until I got older…
My favourite Final Fantasy character is probably Llendar from FFTA.
This is because the only Final Fantasy games I have played are FFTA and FFTA2 (which I haven’t finished yet.) Also Llendar just seems like a dark version of Marche (even though he’s the dark version of Mewt.) It just felt like the confrontation between Link and Dark Link in Zelda N64.
