Your Favorite RPGs

Sorry if this is cliched, but I figured we could use this thread to spread the word about certain RPGs that are our favorites, and other people can check them out.

well, here are my favs:

 1. Final Fantasy 6
 2. Final Fantasy 7
 3. Chrono Trigger
 4. Final Fantasy Tactics
 5. Secret of Mana 2

There’s a decent amount I like, but I’m just going to name a few:

Final Fantasy IV
Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete
Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete
Chrono Trigger
Shining Force
Phantasy Star IV

My current favourites are, in no particular order:

1.) Wild Arms 3
2.) Legend of Legaia
3.) Golden Sun: The Lost Age
4.) Super Ninja Boy
5.) Little Ninja Brothers

In no real order:

Arc the Lad 2 \ <3 strategy rpgs (even if these 2 are a bit on the easy side)
Vanguard Bandits
Front Mission 3 } <3 mechs
Xenogears /
Star Ocean 2 \ Mostly gameplay here
Valkyrie Profile/
Lunar: The Silver Star
Lunar: Eternal Blue }
Lunar: SSSC }Teh funneh
Lunar 2: EBC }
Fallout /
Uncharted Waters 2 (First RPG I actually owned)
Breath of Fire 3
Secret of Evermore (mostly nostalgia setting in)
Nethack (Foul language inducer)
Planescape: Torment
Tales of Eternia
Mech Crusaders (browser game I’ve wasted over a year on)
Castlevania: SOTN
Phantasy Star 1, 2 and 4

In easy to digest form, no less

Rather than a top 5 list, since the point of the thread is to mention RPGs that others may not know about, or give referral to them (Which is a really cool idea, btw), I’ll try to list a few good RPGs on each platform that I’ve tried an RPG for.

Mother (Earthbound Zero)
Final Fantasy 3

Game Boy:

Final Fantasy Adventure
Final Fantasy Legend 2

Final Fantasy 4
Der Langrisser
Romancing SaGa 3
Final Fantasy 6
Chrono Trigger

Phantasy Star 2
Phantasy Star 4

Sega Saturn:

Albert Odyssey: Legend of Eldean
Panzer Dragoon Saga
Langrisser 4

SaGa Frontier
Final Fantasy Tactics
Breath of Fire 3
Front Mission 4
Legend of Mana

Nintendo 64

Paper Mario
Ogre Battle: Person of Lordly Calibur
Quest 64 (I don’t know why I bother with this one, I know no one likes it already)

Sega Dreamcast:

Grandia 2
Phantasy Star Online

Game Boy Advance:

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (I really haven’t found a good GBA RPG besides this one…)

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Haven’t really found a good GCN RPG besides this one…)

Playstation 2:

Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter
Final Fantasy 10
Growlanser 2
Growlanser 3
Shadow Hearts

My favourite rpg is just simply ‘chrono cross’.I have yet to find a game where I involved myself in like I have in Chrono.

The ones listed in my profile+all FFs (in a top 10 manner)+Bahamut Lagoon. BL rocked…the mix between Advance Wars and FF. THAT was some cool stuff. Fantabulous. Did I praise it enough?

In no order

Final Fantasy Tactics
Shadow Hearts Covenant
Suikoden II
Suikoden III
Lunar SSSC

I’m sure Phantom Brave, La Pucelle and Disgaea will be up there… whenever I get a chance to play them.

In this case, tried literally means only getting to the sperm shooting bug boss. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey SG, you forgot your ultimate fun game, Breath of Fire 2

Now I just remembered what I did at I’ll put a link to it in my sig. Every game that I own, I love.

PS2 :

Shadow Hearts (and probably Covenant too, but I haven’t beaten it yet)
Final Fantasy X
Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne

Final Fantasy VII
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

Final Fantasy VI
Chrono Trigger
Seiken Densetsu 3

Breath of Fire 2 IS pretty gheyenstein, but I’d have to say that my ‘ultimate fun game’ is a two way tie between Star Ocean 2 and 7th Saga. :stuck_out_tongue:

Dammit, now I want to tell Gamespot every game I own. This could take days.

I liked it

I like YOU.

Chrono Cross
Chrono Trigger

In no particuler order, and clearly I am a Square fan:

Final Fantasy 1, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9
Saga Frontier 2
Chrono Trigger
Chrono Cross
Entire Dragon Warrior/Quest series
Super Mario RPG
Vagrant Story

EDIT-- I forgot about Breath of Fire 1-3

Now, I have also done so. And I guess I’ll put it in my sig, as well. They didn’t have a few of the games that I have in their system, though. Somewhere around 30 or 40 games. They didn’t let me catalog my strategy guides, either.
