Why?

I did, I was merely pointing out your statement about Schwarzenegger being stupid, which seemed to be based on nothing at all. If you’d like I can attack your second statement and how foolish it is to be assured from the start that this Governer will fail. Or the even more ridiculous statement that when/if Schwarzenegger fails then the American public will suddenly wake up and never elect another actor again.

Haw. The late shows’ll have the best skits we’ve seen since Clinton was in office.

I voted no on the recall also… But Davis is such an ass it almost made me sick to do so. Ugh. Then we have creepy Bustamante and a slew of other hopefuls which range in crappiness, but do share the fact that they’re all crappy. Arianna Huffington would’ve been a good choice, but I heard she pretty much killed her chances when she focused on attacking Arnold at the big debate rather than clearly presenting her own platform. And then, well, she dropped out.

Anyway, I guess we’ll just see how it goes with Arnold… o_O

Dear god, 4000 ish people voted for Gary Coleman o_0

Bad choice of words on my part. Arnie is not “stupid”, he simply “lacks political experience”. If he does an excellent job, it shows us that politicians do not necessarily need years of experience and training to be effective. This is exactly the opposite of the ideal we hold now; where we believe political candidates must be highly trained, with years of experience under their belts. (Essentially, we’re replacing wisdom with enthusiasm.)

And I’m sure if Arnie does fail miserably at his job, the public won’t turn around and vote Gary Coleman into office. At least not in the near future, when the memory is still fresh in their minds.

2) Arnold does a crappy job, gets recalled, and any support for celebrities as political candidates goes down the crapper.

remembers when Jesse Ventura did his thing in Minnesota

I don’t think that’s gonna happen.

where DO you live, if you don’t mind?

(nice lemming)

YOU FOOLS! DON’T YOU REALISE THAT DEMOLITION MAN WAS A PROPHECY MOVIE?!?! FIRST GOVERNOR OF CALI, THEN PRESIDENT, THEN WE’RE ALL DOOMED! DOOOOOOOOOOOMED!

If Jesse “The Body/The Mind” Ventura got booted as fast as he did, Ah-Nold shouldn’t do much better.

My mom said Arnold will do OK because his wife is a Kennedy or something like that.

Of course, she also thinks Duccakis ran against Bush in 2000 -_-()

there’s nothing wrong with California that a rise in the ocean level wouldn’t cure :stuck_out_tongue:

Heh. How long until CA becomes an island? We don’t want this thinking to infect the rest of the country. (Suddenly Reagan comes to mind).

There’s a reason I despise politics (many reasons, in fact).

One of them is the idiotic responses politics invariably elicit. People, if you’re not going to say something intelligent or at least remotely funny, then don’t say anything at all.

As Green Mage said, there really wasn’t any better choice than Arnold in this election (although I still would have voted for Mary Carey…for…personal reasons). Arnold may do a good job, or he may do a terrible job, nobody knows yet.

Don’t act like the world’s ending just because an actor/former bodybuilder got elected to governor. Neither of those things have anything to do with somebody’s political prowess (or lack thereof).

VCRP radio station on Vice City. It has the right idea about CA. :stuck_out_tongue:

Playing slight Devil’s Advocate here, shouldn’t we at least give him a chance before we condemn him as this being the worst thing to happen to CA ever? He may be inexperienced, but he isn’t stupid.

This is so… twisted. laughs o_O

Ah, politics. Can’t live with it, can’t live without it for some reason.

The thing about Arnold is that his entire political saff are the ones that origionally gor California in to the whole crisis. Also, he isn’t a polotician he is an actor, I doubt many non-califonians watched the debate, but he wasn’t debating he was reading his lines.

Only a matter of a few months until the campaign to recall Arnold gets underway.

I’ve heard predictions that a recall will be full force in about 6 months, but there are people on both sides of the aisle that want to just put this all behind them. I say give him a year. That should be plenty of time to get adjusted well enough to his new position.
