The Movie Saga 2: Electric You-Know-What

My character would most likely be General Nagumo trying to crush that resistance movement. I would stress infantry tactics more than armor tactics, but I would still value the strenth of a Panzer.

Since I can’t be silly, I’ll be the next best thing: Spike Speigel.

I’d be sorta like the resistance that has been spoken of, but not quite. While I would do my best to try and keep hopes up, I’d definitel;y slip into depression way too easily, and would be cowed into submission at the first sign of punishment.

Part 3: The Defiled RPGC

Mastermune, demigod and Admiral Nagumo climbed through the rubble, and came across an overgrown road leading to a series of ruined buildings. With no other idea of what to do, they simply followed the road to the buildings.

Around them stood familiar structures; the Shrines of RPGC, which stood alongside the agora as the centers of knowledge. However, they were now collapsed, their days of glory long since past. Ancient moss covered their walls, and layers of dust covered their floors. The sound of digging alerted them a ways down the road, toward the last shrine on the road.

Inside stood someone who looked like Lex, only with a ridiculous Indiana Jones-like gettup. He was digging through the ground of the shrine, and was completely oblivious to the presence of the group. Finally, he hit something hard, stopped digging, and pulled out a small iron box. He smashed the lock off with a rock, and slowly lifted the rusted lid. Inside was a small note, obiviously of some importance. Finally, he saw the three people standing behind him.

“About time somebody showed up!” he snapped. “What’s the story behind this place?”

“We don’t even know what ‘this place’ is,” said Mastermune. “How could we know the story?”

“Not another one!” sighed the one who looked like Lex. “Do you know ANYONE around here? Someone who has been here for a while?”

The sound of engines alerted them to another approaching group. A large gang of motorcyclists roarded down the road, drinking and smoking and causing all sorts of hell raising in the dead world. They pulled up next to the shrine, as their leader, someone who looked like Mabat in a biker outfit, got off his bike and grabbed a spiked bat.

“What have we got here?” he said.

“Speak for yourself, Mabat,” said demigod. “What the hell happened to you?”

The guy who looked like Mabat smacked demigod across the side of the head, drawing up massive amounts of blood. Mastermune and Nagumo tried to help, but other gang members pinned them against the wall. The guy who looked like Mabat regained his composure, as demigod was pinned against the wall.

“The name’s Max Bat Seeker,” he said. “And I doubt you’ll forget it, seeing as how you’ll be dead in a few seconds. XBoxFanBoy, take the fedora dude.” A lowly gang member lunged for the guy who looked like Lex, but was taken down by a quick shovel blow to the head. The other gang members were slightly shocked, given the others enough time to break free. Mastermune grabbed a knife off one of the gang members, and quickly cut his way through the other losers. demigod grabbed a sawed-off that one of them was foolish enough to carry, and blew some more down. Nagumo grabbed a wire the guy who looked like Lex used for light, broke it, and shocked several of the lowly bikers before they could react.

Bat Seeker facepalmed himself, then got back on his bike, along with the rest of his gang, who were all miracously healed. “We’ll be back in five minutes,” he said. “We just need a bit more to drink.” They drove off into the distance, as everyone else started around dumbfounded.

… Holy crap. Yowza. And other type exclamations. Oh, and, uh, to clarify my previous post, I meant more along the lines of “mercenary-type, easygoing-against-all-available-evidence, is nigh-incessantly rude to the attractive female lead.” Hmm … speaking of which, the only other CB stand-in character I can think of is Lilith as Ed, and a Metool as Ein.

The fedora-wearing Lex finally extended his hand. “Name’s Lex, Toronto Lex,” he said. Everyone snickered at his name, realizing that it sounded like a name a writer would throw together when he couldn’t think of anything better. Once Toronto started reaching for the shovel, though, they quickly stopped.

“Once again, do you know anything about these shrines?” asked Toronto. “They’re much more destroyed than the other one.”

“…what other one?” asked Mastermune.

“The big shrine at the end of the road,” said Toronto. “Are you people even from AROUND here?”

“We already answered that!” said Nagumo. “Take us to this shrine.”

They walked down the long, dark road, until they reached an enormous cathedral. The stone walls were finely shined, the doors made of solid oak, the stained-glass windows adorned to the nth degree. After much effort, they pushed open the doors, revealing a glamerous interior. The walls were almost invisible under the vast amounts of treasure, tinted in a rainbow of colors from the windows. At the far end rested several enormous portraits and tapistries, all depicting a rather sinister man with a black sword. The most shocking object, however, was a large cryogenic cylinder. Inside rested the body of a swordman, complete with his shattered sword. One name was written on the side: “Rast the Betrayer.”

“Enjoying yourselves?” asked a voice from behind. Everyone turned, and saw the familiar blue form of Macc Maverick standing by the entrance.

“The fabled Macc Maverick,” said Toronto. “They say you fought alongside Rast during the Rebellion. I heard you were the only one to survive.”

“You know nothing about what happened,” said Macc. “Jim tricked Rast, claiming to be honest and responsible. Once he gained power, he infiltrated every facet of our lives, taking credit for the very creation of this place.”

“What about the attack on Jim?” asked demigod. “Wasn’t that-”

“A complete disaster,” continued Macc. “We were able to easily reach Jim himself, but something else was there. It killed everyone one-by-one until only Rast and I remained, and I was quickly blown out of Jim’s fortress. Without any backup, Rast was quickly killed by Jim.”

“And now you die,” said yet another voice. Everyone looked at the entrance again, and saw a large group of gun-toting soldiers, complete with some guy that looked like Nagumo.

“General Nagumo,” said Macc. “I see you brought your friends along. Why can’t you just face me like a man?”

“Shut up!” shouted General Nagumo. “Your little resistance friends can’t help you now. Kill everyone inside!” The soldies started to pour inside, but they were suddenly blown apart by a giant fireball. The few that survived started firing into the distance, while Macc grabbed General Nagumo from behind. The general, however, threw Macc into a pile of treasure, grabbed an assault rifle, and aimed for the recovering Macc. Mastermune quickly jumped at him, but was knocked back with a single blow from the rifle. Fortunately, demigod was able to grab the rifle while he was focused on Mastermune, and General Nagumo started to back away.

The last of the soldiers were blown apart, as another shadowy figure emerged. Recognition filled Macc’s eyes, and he quickly threw General Nagumo aside and ran to the shadow. The others followed, execpt for Toronto, who took the opportunity to spit on General Nagumo before running off.

“This is far from over,” he said. “Macc Maverick, you will die for this.”

Ooh…I likes.

On another note, I love your avatar.

Ack, sorry for not posting earlier. Cala’d be one of those seemingly good followers, probably somewhere within the rule itself, but she’d really be part of the resistance.

Oooh. I like how the story’s going along. And your avatar rocks. What’s the guy’s name again? Mr.Atom? Been so long since I read The Watchmen.

Awesomer and awesomer. Wait, is that actually a word? [/ALICE IN WONDERLAND]

Very nice little battle. Hopefully the start of something rather epic maybe.

Another point of view… this should be intresting.

Well handled, D. My only complaint would be that the action happens a little TOO quickly. You should dedicate at least a whole post to just two guys going at it. Otherwise, great stuff.

BTW, I like your Doctor Manhattan Avatar (from Watchmen). I don’t like Watchmen itself, but I respect the story. Oh, did you know it’s being made into a movie? No joke. Thought I doubt they’ll capture the comic’s dark atmosphere. Which was the whole point.

Lex: Dr. Manhattan IS based on Captain Atom; all the Watchmen characters are based on the Quality Comics company characters DC comics bought years ago. Rorschach, for example, is based on The Question. Check out the new Justice League episodes and you’ll see Atom, Question and maybe a few more of them.

Mabat: Great going there with “Mad Bat!” :hahaha;

Macc led the small group through the abandoned streets, to a large industrial city deep in the center of RPGC. After dodging several more guards, they reached a small metal house, with a large wooden door and a tiny shutter. Macc knocked softly, and the shutter flung open, revealing a pair of menacing eyes.

“What’s the password?” said whoever the eyes belonged to.

“Let me in, you idiot!” said Macc.

The shutter flung closed, and the door opened slightly. Everyone rushed inside, and the door slammed shut just before more guards, led by General Nagumo, came around the bend. They stopped, and General Nagumo looked briefly at the building, but shook his head and continued on.

The door’s operator looked just like Mastermune, only with a heavily-scarred face and a very menacing disposition. Without even looking at Macc, he moved a carpet and opened a now-revealed trap door. Macc simply led everyone down a ladder into a small underground fortress. The door quickly shut after them, and the sound of locks being put into place followed.

Several people were huddled around, looking over various documents and maps. Their eyes slowly turned to Macc and the others. Several were instantly recognizable: Heaven’s Soldier, Wilfredo Martinez, Valkyrie Esker, and GG Crono.

“This is our own little tribute to Rast and the others,” said Macc. “Our goal is to throw out Jim and restore justice to RPGC. Since you don’t have any choice in the matter, welcome to the resistance!”

I did catch an episode of Justice League Unlimited, but I never thought the Watchmen characters were based on Justice League characters. I simply forgot Dr.Manhatten’s name 'cause it’s been so long since I read Watchmen. I liked the way the artists conveyed Rorschach’s emotions when he was wearing the mask. It’s pretty hard to do when you’re working with formless blobs that were supposed to move around at random.

Heh, I liked the password: “Let me in, you idiot!”

Ah, so the resistance makes their entrance. As always keep writing Gallo, since we want more.

General Nagumo entered the darkened throne room. The black metal walls portruded sharply, as a red carpet led to a black throne covered with human skulls. Jim himself, a tall, shadowy figure with a long black sword and a silver goblet, sat on the throne, staring coldly at General Nagumo.

“My lord,” said General Nagumo, quickly kneeling before Shaheen Jim, “we have located the rebel base. May I request a small strike force?”

Jim swirled the contents of his goblet around. “Nagumo, you have failed me many times in the past. If you are not certain that this is their location, your career will be brought to a sudden end.”

“I am certain, my lord! I will not fail!” General Nagumo lowered his head, concealing his fearful eyes.

“You will have more than a small force,” said Jim. “If you are as correct as you claim to be, I’ll give you the tentire military. The resistance MUST be destroyed! Isn’t that right, my love?”

A young woman, with unparallel beauty and intelligence, entered the room. Both Jim and Nagumo were instantly smitten by her. She laughed a valley girl laugh, then huggled next to Jim.

Everyone looked down at the map. “We know when and where to strike,” said Macc. “Jim’s currently building another tower next to his castle. The site is guarded, but nowhere near as heavily as Jim himself. If we can go through there, we could sneak right into Jim’s main tower and destroy him.”

“But…what about the woman?” asked alternate GG Crono. “They say anyone who beholds her falls in love, and she can win a battle in one blow.”

“Those are just stories,” said alternate Wilfredo. “No such woman could possibly exist.”

“You four think you can handle this crap?” asked alternate Heaven’s Soldier.

“Of course,” said Mastermune. “The sooner we take out Jim, the sooner we get out of here.”

Everyone’s attention shifted as the entire complex shook. Part of the ceiling collapsed, and the alternate Mastermune fell to the ground, badly injured but still alive. They quickly grabbed him and ran out, but not before Macc threw some kind of device to the ground.

After nearly half the city was leveled, General Nagumo entered the ruins of alternate Mastermune’s house. In the basement, he found what looked like the bodies of the entire resistance. He smiled to himself, took a few more shots at Macc’s head, and walked off.

After he was a safe distance away, the super-advanced holograms deactivated.

Max Bat Seeker and his gang rode back into RPGC, after filling up on gas, booze and cheap women. “Let’s find those goddamn punks,” said Max Bat. “They’re gonna pay for screwing up my image.”

(to be continued)

… Whoops. I can’t wait to see what Shaheen Jim will do to AN next.

Continue your good work Galloway.
