I think its fair to say that there are also adults who fit into this category… However, the mental state of said persons is probably no where above that of the 10th graders in question either.
Hey I’m in Grade 10!
To get back on topic, I’ll just say that…if it sells, it’ll last, then it’ll end. Then some new series will be put in the forefront…thing is I’ve always liked the series games that Square had except FF. Don’t know exactly why…they always seem a bit more interesting. Guess I answered my own question.
I mean, after playing FFIX and 8, you’ve got to think Parasite Eve is about the coolest thing to play…at least for me.
What I’m currently thinking is, Spueenix has too much priode to let it die. Think about it. They’re planning up to, what, the THIRTEENTH final fantasy? We all joke about how much more… paradoxical? oxymoronic? I’m not sure what word should be used here… but anyway, I’m seeing this as sorta like a infinite thing to savew face, and make people laugh at it even more in a good-humored way, and still buy the crappy things so they can laugh about it.

I agree. Theyre just milking a cash cow now. X-2 was a travesty, the FF I and II re-re-REmake It was a wonderswan remake first- is pointless, the FFVII movie looks great, but to make another 3 games for it is really ruining the legacy left behind by that one, and yet FFIII has yet to be seen here.
On the other hand. Amano only did character designs, he didnt have anything to do in the creation of the GAME itself, and Uematsu, while a brilliant composer, and partially responsible making the FF games what they are, didnt have anything to do in the creation of the GAMES themeselves, so it’s really the company’s fault.
All that said, I still await FFXII with bated breath. It’s just got too much going for it for it not to be a disappointment.
FFIII is conimg out on DS or whatever its’ going to be called.
- If all GTA3 was just random killing, I would give it away. I don’t own it now because I don’t want it. The missions are the only things that appeal to me. Random killing is mildly entertaining for a few minutes before it just gets stupid and boring.
- Drugs and prostitution ARE mature themes, regardless of how mature you think the people that like them are. There’s a reason that both of those themes get movies R ratings.
Some things should be allowed to end while they’re still good. Of course, that never happens.
The last few final fantasy games I played, FFTA, Crystal, and X2, were average. For final fantasies, they were garbage
Game INformer made an article about the new rpgs square enix is going to make. They say Square still gots its magic. I’m not sure about that yet.
Crystal’s really good if you can get the extra people.
well if Uematsu dose leave they might be able to recruit the guy dose the music for the Castlevania games he could pull off the usual remixes of prologue prelude/crystal chocobo with new themes I just dont know.
there are many more great video composers in the busness like the guy who did the Music for the Chrono games.
yet with the return to Nintendo(look what they did to the Moogles in FFTA horrifying) I see a dreary future for any Sqaure/Enix game released under either side.
which will be within 5-10 years the death of two great companys the companys that started console RPG’s,the companys that brought us the cgreatest game of the 90’s the companys that without them the video game industry would not be as big and overly Capitilistic than they are today,because all the games(with the exiption of sports games) whether they are RPG or not woould not be what they are without influence from such ones a FF6,7,Chrono Trigger,Gaia,or any other game that came from either company during the 90’s.

like I said just pray(seriously pray to God,or whatever God that it is that you pray to)since boycotts never work,that the new relationship with Nintendo is a short one and that they surely will return to Sony or maybe let Microsoft release there older games while at the same time being back on track with Sony or since they are probaly the richest developer in the industry release there own system(which will inevitebly be an instant hit)but it depends on how that system will work(technological it would probaly have to have sideways compadibilty witrh any game that has a disk of theres on an other system(if they can do that) if other developers will come flocking to there new empire.

That’s pretty ridiculous to even say. Video games were not made by two or three people, so the fact that they’re leaving a single company means nothing (not to mention the fact that they’ll still be making games, just with a different company). Neither is S-E made up entirely of morons and dolts. They won’t be going out of business anytime soon. Nor is the vast majority of video games dependent on RPGs, which is still largely a niche market outside of Japan. Nor is S-E the only company making good RPGs. -_-

The game credits are now are as long or longer than Some Movie credits. Have a Look at the end sequences of the All Square PS2 games. (I think I’ve got them all)

I think Halo isn’t a true RPG, that’s If you don’t count the Rocket Propelled Grandes. It did quite good for the X-Box release. RPG are hard to find in My local stores.

Video Games are changing, it doesnt mean they are changing for the better or for the worse. Thats an opinion. The fact of the matter is that video games are making more money today then they were back when we all loved our “classic” games. So regardless of all the bitching and whining about changes, they are going to keep happening.
I prefer to look at it like this. There was a time when the Playstation came out… Durring this time there were more lumps of dogshit that you could throw a stick at than any other time period in gaming. We are in another one of those periods… Except the difference is that there ARE companies doing good things. The experimental phases HAVE to happen so that we get more games like Metal Gear Solid, Halo, or Katamari Damacy. We need people to explore and fuck around with the potential of trying new (possibly bad, possibly good) things on the new systems.
OMG Square is changing…! They arent the best out there, there is no single BEST, everyone has good and bad games. I say let the games come out, judge them for what they are, and enjoy them if they are good.
On a lighter note, I’m very much excited about FFXII because it has a much more Tactics feel than previos final fantasy games… It even takes place in Ivalice… which is awesome, give me a convoluted as all shit story, with awesome music (like tactic’s music) and you’ll have another winner. Hopefully.
People don’t seem to recall that EVERY system had awful games released for it, including SNES. There has never been a “golden age of video games” or RPGs or anything like it.
