Super Smash Brothers : Melee!!

Kirby was super powerful in SSB, but it wasn’t because of his turning into a stone move. That move really isn’t very good. Niether is the suction move. And the upward blade move is really mostly good for jumping higher. Kirby was good because he could jump well (floating) and his attacks were really quick.

In SSBM, they slowed him down a bit and weakened him.

I usually use fast, aggressive characters, like Fox and Marth. I keep hitting my opponent so he can’t get up, and when I get the chance, I knock him right out of the wrong. Although speed is my preference, heavy hitters are always a good alternative for me.

I always found use for the stone ability. My opponents had a tendency to attack from below, and that’s where they were stupid when fighting Kirby. But you’re right on most of the other stuff, I never used his Inhale ability ever.

This is the perfect opportunity to vent an idea I had.
I did some thinking, and comsidewring that Smash Bros is Nintendo charas only, I thought up the perfect lineup for the next game (if they make one.) They should remove Pichu, Jigglypuff, Dr.Mario, and Young Link, and add the following characters…

Wario
Diddy Kong
King Dedede (from the Kirby games)
Samurai Goroh (from F-Zero)
Little Mac (from Punch-Out!)
Pit (from Kid Icarus. He’s a trophy. :))
Mike (From the AWESOME StarTropics games. Hey, just as obscure as Ice Climber, and they made 2. They SO have to make more, or at least a port.)
Geno (from Mario RPG)
Paula (from EarthBound)

That’d make exactly 30, whitch i think is a good number.

SO what do you all think?

Hehehehe! Geno!
If they give him the same powers as in Super Mario RPG, then he’ll wipe the floor with his opponents.

If nothing else, I’d like to see Geno. He rocked.

Geno Beam was great! And the Boost really turned up the heat! Heck, even his regular attack was a massive punishment!
And he was a very interesting addition to Super Mario RPG, very creatively made.

I have personaly mastered Ness as a source of major pain. Well, as much one can master a character when they dont have any darn GC, anyhow.

My faves are Link, Zelda, Kirby, and Marth. And I’m an item hogger… I like to use as many as possible. (I don’t much like the bunny ears, mushrooms, etc. though)

Weird way to win a fight: throwing a Pokéball at your opponent’s face, knocking him/her out of the arena.

Link has nice ground moves and air acrobatics, which come in handy to avoid falling off. He’s one of the best characters and will dish out a lot of punishment. Samus is a blasting machine and her bombs make things even more interesting.

Throwing a pokeball isn’t so odd a way to win. Hell, that’s what happens to me half the time!

I use marth, link, fox and pikachachu(I kick ass with him).

I fight in the air alot and I dodge attacks. I don’t use Items except bunny ears.

But at the face ?! The last time I saw it, the other guy took off like a bullet!

I haven’t played all that much, but I know my style :stuck_out_tongue:

I only use Link or Young Link, depending on which playing mood I’m in. If it’s a 2- or 3- player battle, I’ll use Young Link, 'cause he’s better at getting damage out and dealing with one or two characters. If it’s a 4-player battle though, which it usually is, Link is my favourite option because he can just jump in and kill everyone with his awesome blade spin move :stuck_out_tongue: The far-range moves like arrows aren’t bad either, but every one of his A-moves with the sword deal out way too much damage for me to pass him up :stuck_out_tongue: Also, he gets a faster reaction time than he does in SSB, and the grab+throw move have been nerfed, so people can’t be cheap anymore. I like that too :stuck_out_tongue:

And I generally ignore items, unless they’re a Maximus or a Heart or a Hammer.

Our group has agreed in unison: “Hammer, Heart, Tomato and Food OFF!” They’re just THAT unfair… well, maybe not food, but by turning it off, it increases the chances of BOBOMB partyballs :stuck_out_tongue:

My favorite character to use is Roy or Marth. My friends will always try to trap me in a corner, then BAM I use that counter attack special they both have.:o

And that is precisely the reason why I throw Roy/Marth all the time. I swear, Counter seems to be an overall favourite on the “only move to use other than jumps” on several boards other than gamefaqs (Well, there too)

Add c-stick into it and you have a newbie’s best friend… (I have one player in my group who only uses c-stick/up+b)

I hate Roy and Marth. Whenever someone plays as either one, I take them out first.

I HATE when people do that! Anyways, the only reason I use the counter so much is because my friends are stupid enough to fall for it every time, and they tend to team up on me (even if I’m not Roy or Marth).
