Super Smash Brothers : Melee!!

Yet another SSBM thread that comes out of the blue to catch your attention and get popular for a long time. Cause they never failed

Anyway, lets talk about SSBM… obviously.
My style of play is aggresive/active. Using Marth into duels, I tend to run into the oppenent and juggle with him, and I’m always on the attack, unless something goes awray, where I can take out my counter to start anew.

One item that be cool would be Luigi’s Weapon on Luigi’s Mansion…
Suck them down and leave them behind in a dust bag, ala Yoshi’s B-Move. Rar!

My favorite items are the one that change your basic abilities, like cloaking devices, Giant shrooms, metal boxes, and bunny hoods. Why? Cause if you are real good, those makes one heck of a difference. Most of the others items doesn’t do much, big pokemons are just too rare, and the health recovered is easily redamaged thereafter. How many times I used the grappling beam to stop a hammer onslaught?
But don’t get it to the appeareance. Isaac and I use every friggin items that falls in our graps, even fire flowers and food. Just cause we can, and its so fun. The only real weapon that make me cackles with power is the beam sword. The sword’s long reach… makes me unreachable. Added with Marth speed and ways of attack, its just too easy.

I haven’t played melee all that much, but I’ve played enough to post here, I guess.

I’m a Machiavelli/coward kinda fighter, I let other people fight for me. Once eeveryone else is done whittling down their lives, I’ll come in and kick all their asses. Not that thuis means I suck at fighting on the whole, mind you. Since I can rarely get this real chance to stay out of the way, I’ll have to go on the offensive.

I’m a Kirby kinda gal, really. He’s small, so can dodge a lot of attacks, has fairly decent attacking and defensive powers, has a wide jump radius since he floats, and his special attacks have gotten me out of many a peril. His stone ability is the only thing that can effectively negate the threat of a hammer, besides items.

As for items… Well, besides pokeballs which I use every time (hey, let others fight for me, remember?), I just prefer the mushrooms, because if enlarged, I can kick serious ass, and if shrunk, I can practically disappear from sight, I’m so damn quick.

I like using Jigglypuff, or just picking characters randomly. Beating people with Jigglypuff is fun though. Especially winning the match with Jigglypuff’s sleeping special attack, the one where if it hits it sends the enemy flying.

Sometimes I try to figure out bowser. I think he has the most unusual fighting style of any character in the game. To use him effectively you need to use the shield very frequently, and even then it is a challenge. Jigglypuff is just about the exact opposite.

My favs are Samus and Gannondorf.

I’m a very counter-happy marth. I usually wait until a few people are whacking eachother on the head, then I jump in between them, counter, damage both. After that, I usually follow it up with standard slashes. I save my charge attacks for when they try and get back on stage. Or I jump after them, hit them, then -> + b my way back to the stage.

I also like the baseball bat, because noone ever expects me to throw it at close range, thus allowing me to get a few hits in, pick it back up, and throw it at them again when they try to get back on the stage.

I’ve played it before. I seem to do better as Marth than anyone else.

I play Marth during tournaments with my friends or something, since he is my best character, but other then that, lately I have been playing as Ness.

Ness is fun. I rarely use his special attacks, except for Pk Fire. I use the shield a lot when I’m fighting characters like Samus and Fox. But other than that, I go melee with him. His a attack while running is a frickin awesome move, and his A–> (the bat) is strong. I like hitting people with pk fire, which gets them caught for a few seconds, and then hitting them with Ness’s bat.

My favorite items would probably have to be green shells and fans.

Ah yes, Ness is indeed a great character, but hard as hell to use if you don’t know him well. I rather like hitting myself with PK Thunder and launching myself straight into people’s faces. It’s fun.

I never could stand ness, i think it stemmed from when I played SSB, and I could never get his B-up attack right, and always fell to my doom. -_-

Ness was my best character in SSB. Alas, I haven’t been playing much lately, so my skills have gotten quite rusty. I can still kick the asses fo anyone around here tough.

Me and Kirby would say otherwise, mofo.

I personally use Marth, Samus and Ness.

I was talking about the people in my neighbourhood, not RPGC :stuck_out_tongue: And Kirby rocked in SSB, but got nerfed horribly in SSBM. Still fun to play tough.

i tend to use marth most of the time, but i’m also good with link and the ice climbers.

Ya got that right, man. Kirby was the king of SSb, but now I have a harder time trying to keep him under control, and his stone ability seems to have been altered.

Man, I’ve played this game so many times I almost went retarded. It just SUCKS :stuck_out_tongue:

In SSB I was Captain Falcon all the way. Too bad they royally screwed him up in SSBM

I’ve masterd Ness and Marth in every way possible so latley I have been using Samus, which is a great character to use. I genrally play dodge/attack, which is a good stratagy but sometimes the dodgeing will screw you up and…

But I don’t play with items when I play against someone else, but my favorite items are the star-rod, and the hammer(that’s a no brainer)

i don’t use items very often, either…

AN OPEN NOTE TO THE PEOPLE I PLAY AGAINST:
you can’t master a character using items all the time. it don’t work that way.

Usually when i pick up an item, I throw it. Bat? throw it. Beam sword? throw it. The only weapon I use correctly would be the fan. Then I throw it when Im done.
