Ok, so for the past few years, my activity level has been lower than usual… As many of you know, the past year and a half was particularly hellish because I was taking so many classes and was part of so many different projects. I would list it to people and the first reaction was EVERY TIME “when do you SLEEP!?”
Well I was doing that in part to graduate early, in part to spare myself issues with med school aps and in part because I wanted the challenge. Well the challenge paid off. Sin got accepted into a very hard to get place: the MD PhD program of McGill University in Montreal Canada. By early decision.
Now if you’ll excuse me I have to go verify I’m in the correct reality. If I seem so calm, it is because it hasn’t quite settled yet… I’m in shock.
Montreal just lost their baseball team - EXPOS.
But they’ll get you instead. Wow. Bon chance! It’s a beautiful city and the women are the hottest in North America. You just have to practice one phrase in French:
"Voulez-vous coucher avec moi?"
…
MD PhD programs are medical research programs. To get into 'em you need to be good enough to get into the med school and for certain schools, you need to have a bunch more achievements and research because they have about 4-5 open spots a year (and I got one without competing for it by Early Decision). McGill as about the same score avgs as say…Harvard. MD = medical degree , PhD = doctorate. MD PhD programs = both. They take a whiiiile to complete. MD PhDs are essentially required to do both jobs too.
You comin during the winter time? Will we have to sing ‘Si-nis-tral is coming, to town.’ or not? We didn’t even get to see you around last time you came to Montreal, sadly.
Is Sin American or Canadian? Cuz like going to another country for college or uni, isn’t that extremely pricey? o.O How do those scholarships work, anyways.
Wow Sin, congrats. I do hope I’m that successful when it comes to applying for colleges. I’m just glad I graduate in '06 because I’ll get to be in the last year of the old SAT.
