R.I.P. random atrophied black kid with flies on his face who I've never met

They’re not conflicting if you don’t make them all the same priority and they can help each other in different respects, but you know what I’m saying is that rovers aren’t mining mars for Subway. And if they were, the people who made the rovers would eat it themselves.

Moving elsewhere is a prerequisite for the survival of our species. Especially when you consider that nuclear technology is in the hands of groups who believe nuking the infidels will give them a better standing in the afterlife.

Space rovers aren’t going to help the starving African children or cure cancer, but the sooner we can spread out, the better. Not only because of the risks associated with technology; there’s a lot of other shit that can happen. Take a breather from anarchy and check out ‘extinction events’ on wikipedia. Aside from those, there are all kinds of crazy cosmic events occurring around the universe, and if we’re in the wrong place at the wrong time, we’ll be wiped out instantaneously.

I’m just guessing, but if we spent as much tax money on a space program as we do on military budgets, we’d be able to start colonizing Mars in our lifetimes. Instead, we’ll have more weapons to use to kill each other, while millions of children continue to starve.

We don’t need to colonize mars. We need to start giving a shit about the planet we’re already on. Colonizing mars is a pipe dream and an excuse for apathy, stupidity and greed.

True apathy needs no excuse.

tru dat

I feel like I’m reading the lyrics to an Anti-Flag song sometimes when I read your posts. Just sayin’.

They sound like a band I’d hate. Do you feel better now?

I really don’t know how to take SG’s comment. Knowing his and Anti-Flag’s respective musical abilities, and Anti-Flag’s other merits, I would assume pejoratively.

I pretty much agree with everything Zeppelin said about how the policies of industrialized countries screw over the developing world. However, I want to add some things. First, and Zeppelin or someone else may have pointed this out already, that the elites of developing countries are complicit in robbing their own people. Second, that American citizens are also probably complicit in this, since pursuing unfair trade policies makes most of the middle-class better off. And third, that this whole “rich rule everyone else” theme seems to be part and parcel with human nature. Its a cliche, but rich people exist in the first place because everyone - poor and rich alike - wish to get ahead of their fellows; thus why various experiments with socialism or communism haven’t worked yet.

That being said, I don’t think that sending aid or trying to solve the poverty problem through any kind of institutionalized program will work. The problems of wealth inequality and poverty unfortunately seem endemic to the human condition; they can be moderated, but never extinguished. If Africa or anywhere else is pulled out of poverty, it will happen naturally and indirectly through the evolution of their economies… if it happens at all(I don’t know enough to foresee how the global economy is going to evovle).

Hades and Anti-Flag? I dunno, Hades seems more the type to play hyper-technical acoustic soulful ballads with John Pettruci/Scandinavian Melo-death lead tones overdubbing his heartfelt anarchist lyrics, all synthisised on his laptop with cubase/protools in a basement coffee shop in arts-ville toronto.

Obviously he is trying to level up to move to Montreal where this is a greater arts-ville experience points gathering.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Go back to your old-school black metal, GM. In other words will you ever upload any new songs?

I agree with Hades. Mars is in it’s ending period. Fuck mars.

Europa ftw!

Aye, well that depends when you last checked our myspace. We have a split release coming up and we are working on our first full length. Give me a month and I’ll have a couple discs I can mail you, if you want.

I saw the page yesterday, so I’m up to date. You do know I need some music for the beach now that it’s summer.
