I would have used more tension attacks since I can easily go over 2000 in one shot with the hero, but the stupid Ice Wave resets all tension. -_- I just went with Oomph + Falcon Blade/Stainless Steal Scythe for the win.
Who gets Hustle?
BTW, I’m so far behind everyone else because I can only really play on Mondays and Fridays… -_-
Also, does anyone know what the hell the “Lady’s Ring” is for? You can’t sell it, you can’t stick it in the alchemy pot, and its description says that “someone lost it.” Anyone know if it has a good use?
Jessica does. Max out sex appeal.
OKay, a mini medal question… I know that in the high place east of Farebury, there’s an Elysian bird that buries shiny things in the sand, so I’ve been running around mashing the X button while on sand to try to dig up something. Could anyone offer more specifics on a location to check there?
West side of the beach on the compass, it was directly south of the bird too. It’s a bit hard to be more precise unfortunatly.
I’ve found absolutely no use for it yet. Beat the bonus dungeon today too, was pretty fun.
You bring it back to the lady in the first town, she goes ‘It’s not mine’, then you show it at her husband and he bribes you to shut up.
If you remember what the seer told her, he told the lady the ring was not meant for her finger.
Of course I’d find it about two seconds after reading your post, and I didn’t have the controller in my hand while reading. ARGH.
Another question, in regard to the bonus dungeon: do you have to do anything special during your playthrough to be able to access it like in previous games?
I hope I can catch up to some of you guys tomorrow… Last I got a chance to play, I had just gotten the Darktree Leaf.
Nope. After you beat the game and go through the ending, it’ll show you where to go for the bonus dungeon and ask you to save. Your save takes place right before you go to fight the final boss. All you have to do is fly on over to it, and you’re gold.
BTW, Ranks A and S of the monster arena are incredibly easy if you use the three golems. They use a special move that merges the three of them into a giant golem with 999 HP and very high atk and def. What’s more, whenever the three merge into Mazin, the ultra golem, they all recover all HP. It’s real easy to beat the higher ranks when you recover HP after every battle.
As for Howlwind Hill, you don’t need to have beaten the metal creatures for them to appear on the hill. I never defeated any Metal Kings, but I’ve seen two so far on the hill (and still haven’t defeated any… -_-), and I never even encountered any King Slimes until I made it there.
The gold golem is near neos, the clay golem is near that port you arrive at by boat at the start. Where’s the 3rd golem?
On a hill sw of the dark ruins. You need to fly to get to it, though.
BTW, since many of you guys are past me, who do you think is the most useful bearer of the Timbrel of Tension? I’ve been giving it to Jessica for boss battles, and Angelo for regular monsters. Any better ideas?
S rank kicks my ass at the last battle, because Mazin is a smacktard that keeps trying to unsuccessfully kill that metababble first.
I have Yangus use it, because his DPS is less than a fully charged jessica, and Jess is busy buffing while Yang would do what? Piddly hits, compared to her burst of 5000ish damage with Twin Dragon Lash.
I got lucky… Mazin criticalled the Metal Babble the first round… >_>
BTW, I’ve never seen Jessica make a critical hit. Is it even possible with a whip?
[edit]
I think I must be sleep deprived… I just saw the Boss Troll lick his club (as he tends to do when he idles) right after hitting Jessica, and the first thing that went through my mind was “ha ha, jokes on you, she has the clap!”
Heheh…I hit 777 in Baccarat on my fourth crank of the red machine. Currently doing the roulette thing.
Edit: Hit the jackpot three more times during the course of an hour and a half or so. Got the whip, and everyone is wearing a suit of Liquid Metal Armor. I’m going to try for about 50K more coins for Falcon Blades and Saint Ashes, then I think I’m done.
Whips can’t crit, same for boomerangs I believe. Anything that does AOE can’t crit, to my discovery.
If they can, then in my 50+ hours of gameplay, they never did for me.
I haven’t had much time to play, so i’m behind quite a ways. I’m just getting ready to go search for Sir Leopold.
BTW, I just discovered that Great Trolls drop Seeds of Skill. That’ll help anyone who wants to max out everyone’s stats.
The main casino city is named Bacarrat and it doesn’t even have the Bacarrat card game? Lame.
