Yeah…you’re telling me!

Man.
They rock.
(not being sarcastic)

Wait until the war is over
And we’re both a little older
The unknown soldier
Breakfast where the news is read
Television children fed
Unborn living, living, dead
Bullet strikes the helmet’s head
And it’s all over
For the unknown soldier
It’s all over
For the unknown soldier
Hut
Hut
Hut ho hee up
Hut
Hut
Hut ho hee up
Hut
Hut
Hut ho hee up
Comp’nee
Halt
Preeee-zent!
Arms!
Make a grave for the unknown soldier
Nestled in your hollow shoulder
The unknown soldier
Breakfast where the news is read
Television children fed
Bullet strikes the helmet’s head
And, it’s all over
The war is over
It’s all over
The war is over
Well, all over, baby
All over, baby
Oh, over, yeah
All over, baby
Wooooo, hah-hah
All over
All over, baby
Oh, woa-yeah
All over
All over
Heeeeyyyy

The Doors - Unknown Soldier

Heh, heh…that’s good stuff, Igatona! Good on ya! :hahaha;

Personally, I applaud them.

my faith in humanity has just gone up a little bit.

Truly hounorable people, don’t see that too often. They’re definetly my sorta guys.

How come we don’t see more people like that.

I wouldn’t really call it patriotism, but more dedication to duty and respect for fallen comrades. It is strong comraderie. They already proved their patriotism by signing up for the military.

Edit: sorry, I thought they had died in the hurricane. They didn’t, so forget what I had said.

Huh? Where do you see that they died in the hurricane?

I couldn’t have said it better.

That’s because most people are too caught up worring about themselves, then what might be ‘needed’ to be done.

That is rather true Info…

Signing up for the military doesn’t make you a patriot, just someone who wants to join the military.

I know that, but usually you become much much more patriotic after going through boot camp. Besides, my main point is that standing the post despite the blizzard is about duty and comraderie. Also, many people do join because of their sense of duty and love for the nation. Not all of it is for the benefits. Besides, joining the military shows dedication and lvoe of the nation. There are many other jobs that carry similar benefits.

This came to me after reading it…

“The Unknown Soldiers”

Dead under a bullet, a mountain of carcasses
Or a hurricane as their dishonour trespasses
They died in masses, for us to last longer
Stronger in our illusions, MUCH STRONGER
Harder and harder they pushed in
As the failure sank in, again, they thought they could win
Not their duty but the freedom of their country
Of their PEOPLE but NOT THEIR SOCIETY!!!

Chorus:
THE UNKNOWN SOLDIERS PASS ONE BY ONE
ON A PARADE OF A DEAD MAN,
THE LIVES LONG GONE,
THEY WON’T BE DEAD AGAIN!!!
NEVER AGAIN!!!
THE UNKNOWN SOLDIERS!!!
MARCHING FOR THEIR COUNTRY
ON A PARADE OF A DEAD MAN
THE LIVES LONG GONE
THEY WON’T BE DEAD AGAIN!!!
NO LIES IN THEY HEAD AGAIN!!!

What about the things they fought for,
Something you thought before dying?
Something you brought before trying
To run away from the end with a crazy plan
With nothing in your hands but orders
BUT COMMANDS!!!
Rush out, you obeyed without doubt, without thought
Can your lives be SOLD AND BOUGHT!?
And the disaster, in which you GOT CAUGHT,
Like the F***ED UP SLIPKNOT OF FAKE PATRIOTS!?

[Chorus]

Bridge:
No remorse, cause they won’t show you,
Kill the ones that don’t know you
Know too: no one will know you’re there
When you see the unknown soldiers die everywhere…
Without a care, new world disorder:
GO ON, SEE WHAT YOU DIE FOR!!!
COME ALONG AND DIE, WHAT YOU CRY FOR!?
YOU GOT SOMETHING TO DIE FOR!?
Have they got something to cry for?
THEY GOT YOU!!!
DIE!!!

[Chorus]

No offense, no offense, no offense, no offense meant. It’s just the things I can’t keep inside me.

Sorry if I let your hopes for humanity down, didn’t mean to.

TRULY, NO OFFENSE MEANT!!!

Rather impressive… Must be hard to stay put in such wheather.

That isn’t patriotism, that is dedication and bravery. I’m biased though, I can’t get myself to apply the word patriotism to something positive.
