I was wondering how many people still watch this show. I still think it’s one of the greatest shows ever made. I’ve seen movies that are so crappy, I couldn’t help but crack jokes at their expense, so it caters to me perfectly.
Too bad the rights to the movies run out in November 2004; that means the show goes off the air permenantly. Oh well, I have a few episodes on my comp.
Buy it on DVD. I know we’ve got a lot of them ourselves (our personal favorites being Pod People, and the Quest of the Delta Knights), and that’s the best way to let the developers know that it’s still loved.
“Trumpy, you can do stupid things!”
I would say that my favortive episode would have to be “The Wild World Of Batwoman”. Just for the sheer fact that it doesn’t make any sense. But above all else the height of MST3kdom would be the movie. With such classic lines as: “I regret nothing!” and “Nooooormaaall VIEW! NOOOOOOOOORMAAAAAAAL VIEW!”
I’ve tried to get them on DVD, but I can never find any of the DVDs. And sadly, I didn’t start faithfully watching until the Sci-Fi channel years. I was able to get some of the early episodes off of Kazaa, but it takes nearly a week to download them (they’re pretty large files), and not every episode is available.
Besides, from what I’ve heard, the company making the DVDs is having trouble obtaining the rights to the movies, so only a few will be released.
Oh, and the best scene ever is the Canada song. “Just where the hell does Canada get off sharing a border with countries far superior to it?”
There aren’t any stations that I get that show anything MST. Which is a real bummer, since I really like it. The movie wasn’t the best work of Best Brains (that honour belongs to Mitchell), but it’s the only MST3K that I own.
Always did dig that show; it’s one of my favorite show concepts ever, and it was executed very well.
Though I do agree that the Comedy Central era was better than the Sci-Fi channel era (when, ironically, they started doing more non-sci-fi films, it seemed. I think they lost a lot of their key writers/players, forcing them to explain away Joel Robinson, TV’s Frank, and Dr. Clayton Forrester.)
Hmm…you know…I did see some DVD’s of it recently at a store within my range… I think I’ll actually do that in a few days. Although one of the reasons I’ve held back before is that, with the episodes being two hours each, it’s hard to get a lot of episodes on each DVD.

Sci-Fi. At least it can boast having the best episode of all time.
And from the few Joel episodes I’ve seen, I hate him. He just comes off as too much of a nerd, while Mike comes across as more of a geek or goofball. However, who cares? It’s all about the bots, damnit! Go Crow! Go Tom! Go…well, maybe not Gypsy.
The only one I can remember best(cause it’s my favorite) is This Island Earth. I’ve got that one. Too bad they’re gonna stop.
“hmm…breach hull, all die. Even had it underlined.”
I’ve seen MST3K only once, but it was so funny. I think it was showing “the worst Canadian cult movie ever made”(?), and it was so bad it was hilarious. Whenever I hear the name Rothsbauer, I can’t help but crack up.
I have never seen any of the pre-Scifi channel esisodes, so I can’t really say which era was better. I didn’t even begin watching the show until after its final episode was aired. The first episode I ever saw remains my favorite: “Parts: The Clonus Horror.” XD

That was “The Final Sacrifice”, which was also the WORST THING TO EVER COME OUT OF CANADA! (If anyone can measure such things.)
