I’m playing FFVII rite now and have 2 files, one where I played htrough 2 the end normally, and one where I cheated usin’ Gameshark. Am I the only 1 who does this? :moogle:

Honestly, Gameshark rapes games.
I used a gameshark for FF7 once, but I think it’s funner without it.
I resort to cheats only to obtain effects which CANNOT be obtained through conventional means (maybe except infinite life or stuff like that). Like in FFT I would cheat (but I have no Gameshark ;_
to get the Zodiac Beasts or some other NPC in my party. That’s cool cheating, not skipping hours of item-hunting fun or stuff like that.
I my self haven’t used any Cheat devices, like game shark. But I’ve occannaly used cheating Passwords. Like Typing “Wingnut” in Decent 2 for PC. (Makes your Guidebot attack baddies with a good missle weapon, so good)(I wanted to go though leveks faster so getting it to kill baddies for you, saves time and engrgy)

FFT had the most awesome cheats. You could have any character, even NPCs in your party, and there was all kinds of dummied-out moves and equipment and things. That was nice. 
I’ve never liked GameSharks. Especially with the fact that they have the possibility to reck everything else you’ve done. Oh well.
Can I use Celia and Lede? And Wiegraf? Holy shit, can I use Zalbag!?
You could use Teta if you wanted. I put Altima, Olan and Elidibs on my team once.

These days it’s a cheat disc with a memory card-thingy (for PS2) the PS version was a cartridge you stuck in the back of the PS.

You can Find them, I beleve that Action Replay and Xploder are the main ones in the UK. They are ~UK£40, about the Price of a new game.

SE, you can always download ePSXe and the “Playstation Emulator Cheater” utility, which lets you use a Gameshark while playing on an emulator. Just in case you can’t find one.

I know you might mean well, but it’s frustrating for me. I already explained this, don’t do it again.
Ehh, I never liked cheating. I’d always start in a game like Starcraft or something and then not be able to stop.
It’s why I now try as hard as I can to avoid learning cheats.
Also, with a GameShark, you can do some pretty neat things with the other FF games, like hack Beatrix or Seifer or Edea into your permanent party. Heck, you could even bring back Aeris and Sephiroth (if you don’t mind Sephiroth acting on his own as he did on Mt. Nibel, of course.) It’s pretty fun to fool around with.
And in response to the original topic, I clear the game completely first, then I fool around with the endgame save with the GameShark. Or I hack items that are inaccessable in the main game, such as the Moomba or Minimog summons.
