I have a strong upstream, but not being staff, having anything to help upload, or knowing any Sql, or anyweb based language means I am pretty useless. Good luck getting everything reconfigured guys.

It’s going to be some hard days on RPGC for awhile, but if anyone needs help with the site, I can help out somewhat.
There’s a lot that has to be restored; but iI’m sure we’ll succeed at it. It’s a new entry into the history pages, and a tragedy just like the great deletion.
I read yesterday in the first page to be uploaded this was caused, among other things, by a virus. I think they should find the responsible person or persons and take them to a court.

Viruses’re often spread from sources not knowing they have the virus: Which makes it virtually impossible to charge anyone. Although: The fact there, as far as I remember, only exist one worm/virus for Linux might make things easier. The most important now is to secure things so this doesn’t happen again; though, RPGC could use the money. >_>
We didn’t really lose anything other than posts and a couple updates , so its not a big deal. Since TGD, we’ve taken precautionary measures to safeguard the site. This is an extra inconvenience. I’m gonna be helping fund RPGC in the fall because I’ll have a good job then, but it would help to have donations, esp if we need to add extra systems and security to the sever.
Yep, but it’s one hell of a hassle to re-upload everything, I hear. Even if the site is safely back-uped, it still takes time away from people who benevolently run this site.

I didn’t know the last era I remember was when RPGC looked really crappy, & then it got revamped. That’s as far as I remember & I’ve been here for 4 years! My memory is crappy.

You’re thinking of when Jim sabatoged the site and put up porn to shut it down.
The Great Deletion was caused by their main server or something like that.

Okay, there’s no way you could have been here four years and not remember the great deletion. Hell, I don’t even think you’ve been here longer then I have, if I recall correctly, seph joined way after I did.
Seriously, I’ve been visiting this site for four years, I only popped in the chat about 1 & 1/2 years ago.
I came to the boards about 6 months ago.

This really blows, everyone does know that right. For I had nearly 200 posts on here, which were all deleted, and just think of all of our time that has basically been wasted, due to some IDIOT!
