Yes. But there are now two different remakes of King Kong. One made in the eighties and was terrible and one made during the oughts and was less terrible.
This of course is not counting the original B&W one.

Probably, but I have never played it.
Nah, only in the mind of the exec who planned this movie. I mean, it’s probably YA case of a severely-chopped screenplay, but you don’t reach this level of bad without significant external interference. Or maybe I’m grumpy.
And I was going to go with it being a movie in as much sense as a montage of special effects can be considered a movie (much like Transformers 2 was).
