Gaming Moments that made you cry...

Nothing really bothers me in games anymore. I was pissed when <font color="#3B68AB">Aeris died</font>, but I wasn’t so sad about it. I was much more upset when <font color=#3B68AB>Tellah died. Or when the twins were turned to stone. Or Yang, or Cid… hell, FF4 brought out all of my emotions and stomped them into the ground. Nothing’s effected me since then.</font>

I’ve never accually cried for a game, but mind you I came really close quite a few times. Mostly what gets me all emotional is buying the soundtrack to the game and reminding myself just where it came from. Most of the deaths that occur in games are of nobal chars for honorable causes. I think that’s what hits the spot everytime, the sense of honor behind it all. That someone would give their life to save a friend…

:hmm:

I think I cried when I saw the last boss in Gremlins 2. It was sooooooooo scary!

Awe!: So many I can’t remember

DUH!!: ditto

Apart from the ending of Disc one on FF7,
I’ve cried two or three times when I’d keep losing a battle to a set of 5 chocobos (7 times in a row) on FF Tactics. Before i knew how to kill those things, I would cry a lot!

So you go through the source code to find out what color you’re going to be printing on and do the HTML for it rather than use the simple SPOILER tag?

 You read that one issue of EGM too, eh? XD

Hmm, I don’t cry either, but I know that there are parts in games where I SHOULD have cried if that makes any sense:

Bahamut Lagoon:

When you reach that city that Taicho’s from, and you find out about how he lost his wife to that demented fucker, forgot his name.

Lunar games, various parts…

Legend of Mana:

When I beat up the dudbears :frowning: And the little story with Larc and Sierra was pretty sad to me, too.

Alright, I’d just like to say that I had no emotional reaction to when:Aeris Died! I didn’t really care.

Hmm.

Legend of Mana: Beating up the Dudbears, though tragic, didn’t make me cry. The whole final scene with the Jumi when the hero sheds a tear for them, turning him to stone but reviving them made me cry.

Suikoden 1: Gremio’s death. I really liked Gremio- one of my favorite characters of all time really- his death really upset me.

Chrono Cross: The Miguel fight also got me- a combination of the really sad music and the purpose behind it got to me.

I think that’s it.

This sounds callous perhaps, but I didn’t care when Aeris died …never really liked her that much.

Haven’t completed FFX, but do know the ending. I’m not much of a crier either, but I might’ve then. Maybe when I next see it.

I don’t remember crying in any game, but all the scenes in FFIV, enumerated by Sat, always get to me. The sad theme playing at the same time is perfect. Besides those, I guess the Opera Scene in FFVI comes second. Normally, I think sad love stories are what bring me the closest to tears, but only when I care for the characters. I didn’t care at all for the characters in FFX, so the ending had no effect on me.

Thats because Aeris! was a manipulative bitch. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh, yeah… the things in RPGs that made me cry… the closest would probably be Gau’s theme, the Opera Piece in the same game, and after realizing that Final Fantasy Five had absolutely no real plot.

Right on! toasts Rountree with her coffee mug

I felt really down in Soul Reaver, with all of Raziel’s suffering, specially when Janos Audron is murdered by his Sarafan former self, right before his eyes, and he feels a self-loathing so deep he can barely contain it. He looks as if he would cry of he could. And then, as he approaches the dying Janos, it only gets worse. It was saddening. But then, he swears to avenge Janos by pursuing the Sarafn back to their stronghold, destroying them all and retrieving Janos’ heart, so he can resurrect him. Butt kicking time! And death to the Sarafan!Raziel beats the living crap out of his Sarafan former self, and his brothers, taking his vengeance upon the murderous bastards he used to see as righteous warriors.

Man I hated fighting that thing. Especially if you were unprepared.

Ok, the second thing that reduced me to tears is the last part of Chapter 3 in FFT, where “Requiem” was playing.

And for awe, the ending of FF9 when

Zidane was the actor the whole time and then BAM! Ain’t that a bitch!

Something memorable that always choked me up was when I realized Rinoa would not be killed off, in Final Fantasy 8…also when the screen blacked when Squall went to change his clothes. My eyes welled up with disappointment.

Also had a few tender moments when my ears nearly bled when I was forced to put Precis in my party because she could actually kick ass and her voice went right through me…and that time when Opera let out that insanely scary high pitched 10 second wail when she got killed…yeah i think that’s when my ears officially started to bleed.

Oh indeed good times good times.

sarcastically Oh, I wonder why…coughFANGIRLcough

And we were all disappointed that Rinoa wasn’t gonna die, but after Aeris died , they really couldn’t. They value their lives against rabid fans you know…

If Rinoa died, I have a feeling that Squall would have killed himself, and so I’m glad that she didn’t. -_-
