Dragonball Z sucks.

Plus, if I recall correctly, wasn’t there a “legendary” UNIQUE Saiyan (or however the hell do you spell it) that could go into a super form?

Then why does everybody and their mother get one?

In order to answer that question, I must dive into the mind of a Dragonball Z fan…AAAAGH! Can’t…take…it! Okay, here’s the answer:

Toriyama didn’t end it, so he made everyone a super saiyan. The reasoning was that while everyone else could go level 1, Goku was the only one that mastered everything, so he still ends up being unique in that aspect. However, that doesn’t change the fact that it still doesn’t make sense.

Well, the Legendary Super Saiyan was Brolly. He is in one of the movies. Thing is, the movies have no solid relation to the series, most of them can’t be fit in with the timeline of the series. Honestly, I didn’t really like Dragonball Z until the end of the Frieza Saga, since the coolest thing about DBZ is the Super Saiyans! Now, Cell was annoying cause he regenerated, but when they destroyed every piece of him he was a goner. Buu was a bad enemy cause even when they destroyed every bit and piece the loser could come back, which leaves you to wonder how the Super Spirit Bomb really took him out. Then again, many people have different tastes in anime, and Dragonball Z falls heavily on either side. Not many people think Dragonball Z is “ok.” It’s either really cool or it’s total crap. As you can tell, I’m a fan! Personally, the Super Saiyan 3 ascension was super cool and the music was awesome, if anyone wants it let me know or contact me via AIM to hear it… and Vegitto rules. Enough said.

Yeah. Actually, here’s my theory.

It was supposed to end at the Freeza saga (as it has been said in this damned thread dozens of times) and Goku was supposed to be the next and last Super Saiyan. Now there’s a chance that Goku wasn’t the first seeing as how Brolly was in space. Then again, it had nothing to do with the story therefore the only one to go Super Saiyan before Goku was the one who had did it around 3000 or 5000 years before. Which questions the Brolly theory in term. Now because it didn’t end, 4 more saiyans were capable of transforming.

This is so complicated… I can’t follow! @_@
I only watched the show where buu showed up… and I saw to where the killed him. Finally. 234 shows later.

I thought Dragon Ball Z was alright in the beginning, but it just started to really suck afterwards, the same things kept happening, and it just got really weird.

I really liked the show in the beginning, but after a while, just after Freeza, I was watching it more to just see how it ends. It’s alright now. My opinion is worse than it would be hadn’t CN shown every half-saga 4 times before getting to the next one.

or how about ten episodes equalling roughly five minutes? But I gues that just goes with the whole mediocre plot thing posted by Sorc. Yeah, Dragon Ball Z does suck.

They screwed up making the anime and had to add all those fillers so the anime wouldn’t get ahead of the manga.

From what I heard, Toriyama wanted to stop after Freeza, and leave it at that.

I heard he wanted to stop at the end of the Cell Games too.

They sound as if they were at the toilet, with a severe intestinal disorder, if you ask me…

How do we know those giant craters being made every time they’re powering up isn’t just the result of flatulence? That’s how they’re strong - they can create giant fart craters without being thrown into a neighboring planet!

Thats because he wasn’t able to after the Freeza saga.

Then, when he wasn’t allowed to, he tried to make Gohan the new main character, but once again, the stupid, stupid fans screwed him over and made him bring Goku back. God, why can’t he just fucking STAY DEAD?!

I only got to see the last part of the Freeza saga, I saw the whole Cell saga, and I never saw any of the Buu Saga.

On a different MB, one of my friends summed up DBZ in its entirety pretty damn well, as I shall now demonstrate:

YES YES IT IS GOD!!!

But really, looking at this makes it seem like DBZ is more like an RPG, except for the exceptionally horrible problem that is you can’t actually play it, which defeats the point. Also their plot has no build-up whatsoever, as well as little explanation.

Now, I’ll be the first and lay down and say that Toriyama is great. He really is, however he did get screwed out of doing things the way he wanted too by both his producers and his fans.

The first time I ever watched DBZ was in Spanish so the voice overs were pretty good. I liked it then, so I still defend it if someone just says “DBZ sucks.” But after seeing the frieza saga a few too many times, I say cut that part out, that part sucks. (But Gohan looks cool as a super Sayajin in the cell saga).
