Do you believe in the power of crystals?

Some people who know me think I’m 100% skeptical on everything. Here’s somewhere I make an exception.

I used to keep huge loads of white quartz in my bedroom, but thinking they were driving me nuts, I gave most of them away. It felt kind alike giving pets away to me.

All I have now is a white quartz big as a football ball and a rock crystal big enough just to fill a closed hand. However, this rock crystal has made wonders for me. And I’m kinda attached to it (I’ve been even before it restored my sleep).

Still, I don’t have much knowledge about my crystals. Could someone give me more insight into their propierties? I’ve been to a lot of wiccan pages but none gives more than two lines for my quartzes.

To answer your question, no, no I don’t.

I know that there are some religions etc. that think crystals have special powers, but I don’t believe any of it.

I believe it to be true myself. shrugs

I don’t believe in crystals, but you never know. They just might have power.

Many years ago, someone (I have forgotten whom) gave me six semiprecious stones (aventurine, jasper, Montana agate, moonstone, rose quartz, smoky quartz) and a sheet of information about them and their “mystical” powers as a gift. The type of crystal which you have is clear quartz, and according to this sheet, it: “Amplifies energy and facilitates growth and awareness. A natural healing stone and an aid in balancing psychic awareness.”

I am friends with a few wiccans…I’ll pass on your question to them:ah-ha!:

wait, you say you’re skeptical. Yet you beleive that rocks will fill you’re body and spirit with some sort of energy… ok, yeah.

Charl, quit making fun of him.

I believe that crystals have different powers that change you subconciously. I mean, if you can’t access your subconcious mind, how do we know they don’t?

I am a Wiccan also.

I’ll never quit making fun of any of you!

Holds a crystal above his head I’ve got the Powah!

Personally I couldn’t tell you, but I do know someone who knows a lot about them. Shame I haven’t been in touch with them for a couple years, now.

Ok Ren I posted your question in another forum I am a regular in and these are the answers I received from various Wiccans:

“Known as “Ice of Eternity.” All-around healer and amplifier. Capable of dispersing white light into the seven spectral colors. Aligns one’s consciousness with the electromagnetic forces of the universe, helping each of us find our own inner light that connects us with the One Light. Magnifiers of psychic and healing energies. Used to help focus and amplify one’s thoughts or intentions.”

As for the quartz crystals; a loose explanation would be that they are mainly used for healing, being the most powerful of healers in that they unlock the powers of other crystals. (white light containing all other colours therefore white crystals containing the power of all other crystals.) they also bring connotations of cleansing, being translucent rather than opaque.

Oni…Something for you personally, Milky quartz is believed by alot of people to be beneficial when recovering from radiationtherapy and chemo

I’m not quite sure what you mean by properties, but hopefully this may help you.

Sure I think that crystals can conduct power…they’re used in watches, lasers, and HDTVs, right?:get it?:

From my point of view, everything you believe in is true. Just don’t expect it to be for the person next door.

These quotes come directly from Cunningham’s Encyclopedia of Crystal, Gem and Metal Magic.

"Long thought by ancients to be solidified water or ice, quartz crystal has been used in religious and shamanistic systems for thousands of years… "

“Mystically, quartz crystal is symbolic of the spirit and intellect of human beings.”

“Clear of “white” quartz crystal is perhaps best known to the general public for stimulating psychism. Placed beneath the pillow it offeres psychic impulses in the form of dreams, which are the language of the deep conscious mind. It also ensures peaceful sleep.”

“Quartz crystal is also worn to relieve headache, and a small crystal is placed against the gum to give relief from toothache until dental treatment is obtained. It is also held in the hand to reduce fevers.”

“Throughout the British Isles crystal spheres of an inch in diameter were mounted in silver and worn as amulets against illness.”

“The crystal can be placed on a painful part of the body and left there to rebalance bodily conditions and to remove blockages of energies, which many say result in illness.”

“Smoky quartz is another mood elevator and is worn as a grounding stone. It overcomes depression and other negative emotions.”

I hope that’s enough. All that was mixed in between the proerties of scrying, and how ancient cultures used the quartz for the properties mentioned above, so that’s why it’s a little choppy.

I like everybody’s opinion on this, even Charl’s.

Tril: they can generate power too. If you put a lot of pressure on a quartz crystal and it is wired on both ends it’ll generate electricty.

I’m starting a collection of crystals. I practically live on one of the world’s greatest sources, and I’ve already found lapidated quartzes big as hands for 10 bucks. YAY :yipee:

<img src=“http://www.rpgclassics.com/staff/tenchimaru/td.gif”> I’m pretty sure that they do SOMETHING, but not because they’re sacred and manipulate the space-time continuüm or whatever. We’ll figure out how it works eventually.

Prove all the bs you’ve spouted.
