Aloha.

Just thought I’d tell you guys that I’m back, even with a new avvie (although I never made a leaving thread cause I hate them). Now, I guess most of you will go like

so you may hit the back button now. Or listen to my whinyness.
Been on a class trip to yunnan for a week, south-western chinese province, about as big as california, population about 41 million people, so not much. The flight took about 3 and a half hours, which isnt much. The busdrive took about 7 hours. That was a lot. So we arrived in a small, peaceful town called DaLi around midnight, had 20 minutes to buy instant noodles and something to drink so we had at least a minimum to eat. Since they don’t have any interesting bars or pubs there and it rained like god hadn’t taken a piss for weeks everyone just fell into their beds and froze their asses off. “It’s very warm in Yunnan”, they said. “You don’t need warm clothing, even at night it’s still pretty hot”, they said.
Anyways, after about 90% caught a cold the next day, we filled ourselves with nutricious chinese breakfast (being tofu and ricesoup) and continued our journey by bus, first a little sightseeing, then again about 7-8 hours to a bigger town called LiJiang. The tourists got the better of the city, but it’s still pretty there ^^ At least they had bars. So after another nutricious meal including undefinable jelly, tofu and even more tofu, everyone disappeared into the local bars to make some contacts, play German drinking games and eat pizza and drink flowing bread until everyone dropped puking in harmony behind the bushes.
We stayed there for two nights, then continued another 7 hours to the LuGu Lake, a huge and deep lake. (Surprise, surprise.) Unfortunately, there’s nothing tthere except for a few shops where you can stock up on instant noodles and beer. And a lake. So the 7 hours driving were just a waste of time, unless you wanted to experience how to freeze your ass and nose off by just wearing a T-shirt and running outside in the early morning to take a piss because there’s just one, uh, place where people won’t see you as easily when you do so. Sometimes it sucks being a girl.
So another 7 hours driving back to LiJiang. Wait, correction: 10 hours because there was a HUGE rock blocking the rock on our way back which had to go BOOM with non-existant dynamite.
Arrving back in our hotel around midnight and once again being stuffed with tofu, we had about half an hour to buy more supplies for the next day.
Which is today. We got up at 5 am, drove about 1 or 2 hours to the airport, had to wait 6 hours there for the check in and flew back 3 hours to beijing. I’m home. Yay. Right now it’s 9:19 p.m.
I love my mom. She grilled a steak for me when I came home about an hour ago. A real steak. Like, MEAT. Not tofu. REAL. MEAT.
Conclusion of the whole thing: It was fun. Due to the long waiting times, I learned about 10 new card games. And I beat sokoban and Super Mario 1 about 5 times each. Self esteem +1 :victoly:

I would’ve complained about the tofu on the second day - any trip out of my locale means different food every day… (Even though I do admit I once ate noodles 5 days straight… along weith school lunch, but still…)

WB, btw.

Not possible, unfortunately. The meals were included in the price :expressionless: Damn travel agency.

Tofu isn’t bad if it is COOKED right and not squishy- but otherwise its quite eww. And tofu so many days in a row isn’t going to cut it, unless you have hot sauce. Did you have hot sauce?

I’m glad you’re back! :yipee: :yipee:

…So, did you have fun? rimshot

:fungah: If I ever go to china, I’ll take my own food with me. Living mainly on tofu must be really harsh.

<img src=“http://www.rpgclassics.com/subsites/twistedrpg/images/hero/rirse.gif”> Welcome back Dragon Tear from your trip. Did you bring me anything good while you were gone?

Actually, I did have a lot of fun. German drinking games can be quite amusing. The later it gets, the better they are <_<

And no, I didn’t have any hot sauce ;.; I had to survive a whole week almost without chili ;.;
(they had chili in the plane, but it was awful. It was hot, but it tasted like molten plastic.)

Anything you eat on a plane tastes like plastic. And looks like it. And smells like it. And… etc.

does the welcome back dance School trips are fun…

ties her to a suspended towel rack

welcome back

P.S. my roommate gave me some bottles of authentic south german beer. Haven’t opened em yet though, cause I’ve vowed to stay dry for the rest of college. Dunno if I can resist anymore though.

Welcome back DT, I’m glad you enjoyed yourself. But damn, I thought I was patient waiting around in doctor’s waiting rooms all the time but you take the caik.

The only interest I really have in China is that it’s the fastest growing nation in the world now, great for businesses. Other than that I’d rather visit Japan because of all the games.

Ahoyhoy ^^
hugs DT
Welcome back, punnum ;p

I thought India was the fastest growing country.

Xero: It’s India, and if you want games, South Korea may be better (I think).

No one should ever have to do that.
