3 most Overrated/Underrated anime?

I’m humbled. hastily changes his thoughts to match that of the Master’s

Overrated-To overestimate the merits of; rate too highly. Ok, you’re right there. And it’s true that DBZ’s popularity has waned considerably, but still way too many people (more people watch it or anime in general than the ones who post on this board, you know) find it to be all that and a bag of chips. So it’s overrated.

Inuyasha-I hear more people praise it then trash it, so it’s overrated

Of course the “orgasmic bliss” was figuratively speaking. It’s pretty pathetic I gotta actually make tha clear. It’s widely considered to be one of the best animated films ever made, but I can still think of better. So it’s Overrated.

And FMA is popular yes, but no one outside the internet community knows what it is. And justifiably so, considering that’s the only way it’s availabe right now.

Oh yeah. I remember now. The whole “destined children” from Evangelion may have gotten its idea from Gundam’s Newtypes. The catastrophe in Evangelion seems paralell to the whole Colony crashing tragedy in Gudnam. (In fact, I think they both happened in Australia.)

South Pole, the First Angel awoke on the South Pole, causing all the ice to melt and the water level to increase. I don’t know about Gundam though.

And I might be wrong since I’ve only seen Gundam Wing, but weren’t Newtypes created due to the harsh conditions in outer space increasing their abilities?

I heard Newtypes were created becasue manking reached out to space, but they were discriminated against. They were also more common than the Destined Children. Still, its similiar

Digimon Adventures also has Destined Children which is the same sort of thing. Its common, and they can all see digimon. Some of the kids parents could see digimons, others couldn’t

Eva pilots were the ones born on the year of the Second Impact. Why they were the only ones who could sychro with the Evas is unknown (Although it had something to do with having their mother’s souls jammed into the machines).

Digimon’s destined children were the ones that saw the Digimon when they were little, but if you start looking for a convoulted reason for why they were chosen, let me remind you that Digimon Adventures has some the biggest plotholes I’ve ever seen.

That bothered me, in Digimon, when failed to fully explained how some people could see digimon, and others couldnt :too bad:

That was because some Digimon were crossing over due to the dimensions being screwed up, that’s why only the Children could see them. Later on, when they really crossed trough the door and were materialized completly, everybody could see them.

I was talking about what exactly was the Dark Ocean, how Ryo Akiyama mixes with the story (Since he is in both Adventures and Tamers), Hikari’s strange powers, Takeru’s psychopathic impulses and so on.

What bothered me was all the plotholes in season 3, namely the “Oh look! A new portal thingy!” ending.

There were two (Never dubbed) movies for Tamers.

One of them shows the children going back to Digital World alonside Takato’s cousin Kai (He does a very short appearance in tamers) who also gets a digimon partner and fight against some evil beast and yada yada yada.

The second one showed a Trainmon attacking the city and the Tamers inmediately jumping in to stop it. However, it wasn’t so much about the fight but it focused more on the kid’s lives, like why Ruki’s father left or the old Wild Team. As well as adding a little bit of info about Ryo: He can jump between dimensions.

It was fortunate that they were never translated though, after seeing the mess that is Digimon: The Movie. It’s a horrible mixup of three diferent films with all the important stuff edited or badly explained, like the Miracles Digimental.

Yeah, if I ever wanna watch the movies, I’ll find them subbed.

I’ve seen or at least read reviews from all of them so if you have any questions just ask.

I never really understood the whole Juggernaut thing

I didnt know TK and HIkari were psyhopathic

i thought i had done pretty well with my over-under ratings?

Kari was mentally okay, she just had those weird powers on her.

Some of T.K.'s dialogues were “toned down” on the dub, in the original you can see that he had several anger fits whenever it came to Darkness.

For example, in one of the fight against Black War Greymon he starts shouting at Magna Angemon “I don’t care if he has a heart, erase him! Kill him! Destroy him now!”.

He also seemed to know something about the Darkness that he never told anyone. His dialogue with Kaiser when he infiltrates his base souds very creepy, he puts on a very menacing tone and starts talking all cryptical and stuff.

I didnt know Hikari had powers

Ken might be insane

No Ken is mentally injured, not insane. He’ll get over it by the time he’s fourty.

He acted like he got over it nearly immediately. That may have been becasue they spent enough time on his story arc already

I thought it was kind of bad he got rid of his dark powers. He acted sort of like a weak goody goody afterward (altho his digimon were a lot stronger). I thought the evil Ken was cool

Yeah, I thought he was one of the only good evil people in the series, he was eccentric…I don’t know why but eccentric dudes are ussually my favorites when it comes to evil.

I have cosplayed as the eccentric Ken before
