I finally got some of his music. He’s actually the worst guitarist I’ve ever heard. I am a fan of speed metal, he just sounds fucking awful. He plays off-key 32nd notes almost non-stop for ten minutes in one song.
I thought this guy was supposed to be a legend. -_-;;; Most of what I’ve heard so far is a joke.
I hate him too. Does this make us two, or more?

Malmsteen is a legend in regards to his guitar skill, not neccessarily his music. I agree, his music pretty much sucks.

Having good skill is completely different from having good music. I’ve never really heard his stuff, but he has to be pretty fucking good if Joe Satriani and Steve Vai asked him to tour with them. There’s no two ways about that. Maybe his music sucks, I dunno. 
But I’m certain that HE is pretty good.

You sir, are incorrect! He does not play off-key notes. Infact the very reason that he sticks to scales adamantly is kind of the boring part about his music. Seriously dude, he wouldn’t be considered one of the best guitarists if he played “off-key 32nd notes” in all his songs. Leave that to Slayer’s guitarists. HAhAH!!
As for his actual music, well I kind of like it. I’m a fan of intricate guitar playing so I appreciate it. I can see how someone could get sick of it though, seeing as how all he does is play fast.
And SG raises a good point, why would Vai and Satriani pick a bad guitarist? His skill level is amazing. One can’t say the same about his songwriting ability though.

He definately plays off key. Either that or his instrument is out of tune with the rest of the band’s, because there is zero harmony. It’s like listening to two songs at once.
Now Michael Angelo Batio on the other hand, I’ve really taken a liking to him :DDDDDDD
Maybe you two are thinking about different songs. Which song does he play off key in, Hades? I only ask that because your first post did just specify one song.
Speed Metal Symphony. I’ll admit that the song Cro sent me, Evil Eye, isn’t horrible, but everything else I’ve heard from him is.
It’s not the usual spelling of the name. The common one is Yngve. Even that sucks, though.
