XP SP2 released

probably yet more old DOS and win95 games unplayable. (I should strongly consider multibooting to win98 and some version of DOS)

Multiboot? This intrigues me. How do you do that?

Partition your disk in half, or buy a second disk, and install another os on the second disk or the partition you made. Windows comes with a built in OS-selector, i believe. That or you use something like GRUB (not the official site, however, gnu.org/software/grub appears to be down this morning) or LILO to select which OS you want to use.

But if you just want to use it to play older windows games, cant you just use DOS? Doesn’t windows still come with DOS built in? (i dunno, i havn’t used the newer versions).

No, XP isn’t based on DOS.
Oh, it’s the old partition thing, the thing I can’t do without either shelling out money or being nasty to my hard drive. -_- Ah well.

I Might Set up My Pc to do that so I can Play Ultima 7 and Ulima Underworld and Shrine them…

Still '98 gots her charm, except the time I once got it in a loop after on Duke Nukem 2 in Full blown DOS mode.

Meh, win95 games I understand, but for DOS games I use DOSBox. Cant run some of the late DOS games yet, but its still damn good. Oh well, the win95 games (like mechwarrior 2!) are the reasons I’m keeping a legacy computer.
