The movie rocked, but was the little gilr just there or did she represnt someone from Professor X’s past?

Unless I miss my guess, the little girl was an illusion created by Stryker’s son…although later on I got confused and thought it was Jean

[b]I saw the movie this afternoon and it rocked! Just one question because my friend and I were wondering because we don’t follow the comics:

Jean turns into the Phoenix right? That was the meaning of showing the bird underwater right? My friend and I were arguing about it being a bird (phoenix meaning rebirth etc.) and a jet.

You are correct Jean does turn into Phoenix, as it was implied throughout the movie when her eyes had flames.

I wonder if they’ll touch on the Magneto ripping Wolverine’s adamantium out storyline. Prob’ly not… pretty disturbing and painful to watch, I bet, though. ^^;

As for Jean, yeah she’s definitely coming back as Phoenix. Buut… I wonder how they’ll handle it. The Shi’ar suddenly appearing might be weird. And so would her going from Phoenix to Dark Phoenix in the course of 2 hours. I dunno how they’d pull it off. But I’m hopeful…

Oh, and notice the eyes of the little girl. Same as Jason’s.

Um… and thanks, Charl. ^_^;

I think X3 will either be the Phoenix Saga with the possibility of Sentinels worked in too (depends probably if they’re given more money for X3). And God do I love Nightcrawler, I mean he used to be my favorite character going into it, but I like him even more after the movie. Although I hope in the third one they’ll show more of his debonair-side.

Also, anyone know who were some of the other mutants on that list? I didn’t really catch the names and I’m out of touch with a lot of the series.

And I just have one thing to say, my friend’s been getting me laughing about this for days now. We need the Ice Ramp!!

plus plus PLUS, they referenced my favorite book in that movie. TWICE!

Wolverine’s Adamantium Deal:

At some point in the x-men history, wolverine was getting tired of his adamantium skeleton since it reminded him of just how painful the past was… So he went to see magneto who is the only other living being who can manipulate adamantium. Magneto of course accepting to rid wolverine’s metal cage (as he so eloquently put it) succeeded in removing the skeleton. But afterwards, something happened to wolverine that no one could have predicted (not even xavier). Wolverine’s X-Factor (his healing ability) climbed through the roof and almost became indestructible himself. He also found that he could manipulate his skeleton at his will, thus he created bone claws from his skeleton… Of course, all this came with a price, his anger/rage/violence rate went up. After that I don’t remember if it was either xavier or magnus that gave him anger managment :stuck_out_tongue: But one thing is for sure, wolverine became a god at that moment, his adamantium skeleton was blocking his true potential ^^;

<img src=“http://www.rpgclassics.com/staff/tenchimaru/td.gif”> Well, I never really more than casually watched X-Men, but what’s the deal with Onslaught? He’s the boss from MvsC, and I read somewhere that it was Xavier gone crazy after Wolfy died because his skeleton was removed. What exactly happened to Wolfy and Xavier?

Well I do know for a fact that Xavier gets his psycho episodes fro a number of related events… but wolverine never dies

Oh man, I hadn’t heard a DAMN word out of ya’ll about Mystice (sic). Man, she is the SLUT!!!

And oooohhh man, Nightcrawlers accent is friggin’ cool.

one thing that really surprised me was the fact that Alan Cumming got the role for Nightcrawler ^^

cut all this jibba jabba. Ice Ramp!

Well, I remember that Xavier reaches into Magneto’s mind and shuts it off, which sorta makes Xavier go nutty. And no, Wolverine didn’t die.

I don’t remember Wolverine asking Magneto to take out his skeleton. o_o But it’s been awhile since I read the comics. I remember the cover of the comic where it happened though. Holographic, woo!

And Merl… the ice ramp would be cool, yeah. :slight_smile: But at the stage of development they placed him in the movies… we’re not gonna see it; he’s too pathetic. :stuck_out_tongue:

ICE-MAN MUST DIE!!! GAMBIT 4-EVER!!! ROGUE MUST DIE TOO!!! THAT SLUT!!!

I just saw X-2 last night. It was cool, even though I couldn’t get the Matrix trailer out of my mind. I liked it much.

This is mostly comics storyline spoilers, but anyway…

No, Wolverine never asked that, lol. The X-men were fighting Magneto in Avalon, when Wolverine and Magneto went head-on against each other. Magneto got enraged and used his powers to rip his adamantium in the middle of the battle. In response to this, Xavier used his powers to erase Magneto’s mind, leaving him in a vegetable state for quite a while.
Much later, it was revealed that Xavier’s contact with Magneto created a third persona, a bad combination of Magneto and Xavier that stayed hidden inside Xavier’s mind.
I thought the whole Onslaught thing was stupid, but meh.
