If SE were to release a sequel to that old Square fighting game, would you be interested? I would rather they just made it like Super Smash Brothers with FF characters than adding one-off characters like a yoyo police officer and a girl that was raised by wolves.
Probably, but keep Dasher Inoba, he was funny.
An FF fighter would be pretty cool, yeah. Better yet, since this is Square-Enix, they could stick characters from DQ, FF, and all the popular games like Chrono Trigger/Cross, Xenogears, Vagrant Story, Valkyrie Profile, Star Ocean etc.
It’d probably sell like nuts in Japan.
oh god i want it
Interested? Yes. Reserved and paid in full, were it to be possible, months in advance? Definitely. Played until eyes bled? More than likely. It reminds me of when my anti-square friends say, hey, what about super smash brothers, has your precious squaresoft ever done that before? To which I answer calmly, yes, you ingnorant toad, they made it almost an entire year earlier as well.
I’d love to see Namco and S-E get together and make an update of this, either as a straight forward fighting game like Soul Calibur, or a Super Smash Bros. style button mashing party game.
Who’s up for making a hypothetical roster?
Just thinking on how that would be is just truely amazing. If they did something like that I would buy it!
Ehrgeiz took four people from one game, and a handful of original chars.
Super Smash Bros took twelve people from ten different games. (Well, depending on whether you consider the Yoshi’s Story games to be Mario games or not.)
I don’t see how that’s doing the same thing at all. Maybe if SSB used only Mario characters and no other games, you’d have a point.
I think his point is that S-E should make a fighting game similar to SSB, not like Ehrgeiz at all.
Hell no. That first one was ass.
Imagine playing Crono and have him say :noway: … Hm, that would go a long way. Unless it was the gameplay equivalent of radical dreamers mixed with >stupid arcade 2 button fighting game<
