What's so great about Kingdom Hearts?

I’ve enjoyed lots of ‘childish’ games - Lunar, Brave Fencer Musashi, Paper Mario, etc. The fact of the matter is, I really think Kingdom Hearts just sucks. :stuck_out_tongue: I’m allowed to have my own opinion, and I didn’t even state it rudely.

Lunar is childish? ;_;

It can be in some ways…and not so much in other ways, heh… >:D

Im not pointing fingers,I meant in general SG
meanwhile: :runaway: watch the frog hop :slight_smile:

My main beefs are the unskippable cutscenes (c’mon guys, would binding ‘Select’ to that function be soooo hard?), and the gummi ship (I just outfitted it with a whoreload of guns so I could blow my way through anything, which was…amusing).

I thought the visuals were great and the characters were well rendered. The voice acting wasn’t as bad as some (I’m looking at you, Samurai Legend Musashi).

The combat system is, of course, action based, which means that dodging and parrying become more important, especially against those really harsh attacks SG described. Abilities you get that allow you to move and attack in different ways were a fun addition, and I found myself using them in interesting ways to solve old problems (for example, using the Dodge Roll to intercept enemies fleeing from Goofy or Donald)

I overlooked the other flaws SG mentioned (valid though they were) because I was having fun playing it. Sure, the story was shallow, but it played the archetypal cards well enough.

Although I did find myself thinking; How pathetic must Sora’s world be that its princess is a fricking adolescent?).

I also had sort of a hard time getting over how huge all the kid’s shoes are. I’m 6’3" with size 13US shoes, and that still looked wierd to me.

You can see a butt! And some rather risque portraits ^.~

Edit: For some reason, I really liked leveling up in KH. I did that Ice Lord Boss at the arena over and over again.

I thought the final boss is funny. Every square game seems to have a half naked man for the final boss

Now I thought kingdom hearts was a great game too, but I don’t really see what was so great about it. I mean you just wack stuff with a fancy sword and there’s this typical final fantasy story. I didnt like the fact that the main character was even younger than most final fantasy characters. Back in the 90s final fantasy characters were usually 18 years old
