I absolutely hate them and their shitty products that always seem to break or never work. I feel half the time I’ve spent there has been in the return line.
That’s another thing. They take back absolutely everything so half the time when I go to get something I want, there’s only two of the product left on the shelf: one torn open box that seems to be missing a few parts and one box that’s now round because the product was shoveled back into the box, shrink wrapped back together, and then tapped to the shelf so it doesn’t roll off onto the floor so kids can kick it around.
One time I exchanged a bad movie disc and got another bad movie disc. What the hell?
On a global scale, Wal-Mart sucks (exploiting countries labor and resources), the store itself I like. There’s a humongous selection of these, a good number of which aren’t Wal-Mart brand. I only rarely buy clothes or big electronics there - but their candy, basic camping supplies, First-Aid/Toiletries, DVD/Games/Music, are not expensive. For the things I need, it’s actually about on par, price-wise, as Target. It just depends which is closer at the time I remember I need something.
I saw a story on yahoo where a mom bought her kid a PSP and the box was full of porn. And apparently it was like, the second time the box had been returned to the store. Go walmart!
I hate working for Wal-Mart, especially now that they’re cutting hours and positions like crazy, reassigning us at random, mucking around with our work days for no reason, and trying to reinvent the wheel every fucking night. Oh, and because Save-Mart owns the county government, we aren’t able to get a Super Wal-Mart.
But as a store, I love it. It has a good selection of merchandise, the prices are infinitely lower than anywhere else, and as a whole it isn’t a terrible place. (K-Mart, on the other hand…) It really depends on the individual store, though. I’ve been to ones that look like an army of donkeys had rampaged through, and others look clean and organized enough to be considered palaces.
I love walmart for only one reason and that is that it is so easy to steal from, I must have stolen thousands of dollars worth of things, from drinks to DVDs, so many video games
You cant beat those prices
I shop there as little as possible. Mostly, I jsut go for the weight-loss drinks, since they’re the only ones I can stand to drink, all others taste like shit.
I love Walmart! All kinds of junk food, and its open all night. I can’t count the number of times I drove there at 2-4 in the morning because I was hungry. Actually, maybe I shouldn’t like Walmart that much
Besides food though, its just useful because if you need anything, you can just say to yourself “they probably have it at Walmart”. Like, when my shades broke and I had to get a new one, I just went to Walmart. When I wanted a radio for walking, I figured I would just go to Walmart. Need some batteries? Walmart.
As for the competition, Wegman’s is alright. Its better if you’re looking for a meal, since they have the Chinese food bar and the sub shop; however IMO the food at those two places isn’t that good. But that’s totally off-topic.
How do you…drink walmart?
That was actually pretty stupid now that I read it but whatever. I don’t get why people think Walmart is sooo bad. They are what people need, more people with stuff. Who doesn’t need stuff? Without stuff we would be like other animals, simple and without stuff, or garbage. BTW did I mention you can get STUFF at walmart?
I work there. I don’t like it much but it isn’t absolutely terrible. Maybe this is my wal-mart or maybe it’s like this everywhere, but the management staff is completely incompetent. Pay is enough $10 an hour(with my 3rd shift premium).
I do most of my shopping there just because it’s cheap. But i don’t particularly like the place or the act of shopping there.
I don’t think North America is the only place to exploit the poor. In fact, there’s a lot of poor-people ill-treatment in history. In…every developed country?
