Video problems

Alrighty then. I recently aquired a laptop. Pretty neat, good specs, etc. However, I just discovered something weird. It seems to have trouble playing files with certain codecs (so far it doesn’t work with WMV3(9) and DIV3, both are for .avi files only, I think) even though I have them installed. I have the exact same codecs installed as on my stationary comp (namely the Defilerpak and the WMV9 codecs), they both have the exact same options, etc. It can’t be a problem with my players, since I have them configured the same way anyway, and it works on my stationary. The only difference, as far as I can tell, is that my stationary has a NVidia GeForce 4 MX 440 and my laptop has a RADEON IGP 345M. So yeah. Any thoughts?

(I really make too much comp problem threads)

Heh, heh “aquired” huh? Nice…Did yo “aquire” it the way Marines aquire things or the “regular” way? I’m just teasing, I just find it funny since we talk a lot about “aquiring” loose items. About your problem, I have no idea.

Let’s just say that I dislike the elderly. Especially the robot kind.

Try installing the DivX Codec.

It’s included in the Defilerpak, and since I don’t need the DivX codec seperately on my stationary, I doubt I’ll need it on my laptop.
