vid card texture problems

Hey,

I’m using a Rosewill Geforce 6600 (R6600-256D) video card, and for some reason, it seems to screw up some of my textures. It runs everything fast, and models polygons great and everything, and some textures will be fine, but others are just fucked. In some games, texutres will have discolouration and blockiness… And when I use Passmark’s 3D benchmarking software (it generates a 3D environment, essentially, and measures fps), the sky is completely black when using this card, and there is some rather major distortion on the trees (they’re kind of wavy). The problems are consistent, and it’s not overheating…

Any ideas what could be causing this, and/or what I can do to fix it? So far I’ve come up with nothing. Tried reinstalling the card and everything. Other cards don’t do it. The driver is the newest, directx is updated, everything should be fine.

Sounds like a bum card. If you’re sure its not overheating, it sounds like the memory modules are broken. If it had FPS dropoffs or something, i’d say there was an issue with the GPU, but it sounds more like the memory on the card. Is there a Memtest86 equivalent for video cards? If so, that would confirm the issue and might let you get an RMA if the card is new enough. If not, this is just my hunch.
