I’m watching this show currently and don’t totally understand what’s going on. I can’t find any sites on it. The series has a lot of terminology. I haven’t seen some of the Universal Century
The Universal Century Gundam Universe is really hard to follow, I prefer the wing universe or the Seed universe. Hell, at least i don’t like the SD Universe or the moronic G-Gundam Universe.
Yeay!!! I’ve finally gone from a manly fish to a criminal caterpiller!!!
The G Gundam alternate universe it the stupidest one. It’s just so dumb.
Are you kidding? It’s by far the best alternate universe Gundam (that’s been brought to america, at least). But yeah, it is one of the most horrible piles of crap I’ve ever seen. And by the way, MAHQ has good Gundam info.
Seed is by far superior to G Gundam than anything.

Well, to be fair I haven’t seen SEED in it’s entirety, I got tired of everyone saying “It gets good after episode 12.” Then after I saw that they say “It gets good after Episode 20!111111111” After that , they said it gets REALLY good after episode 30, then after 5 or so more episodes, I attempted slit my wrists and after realizing that I have no hand-eye coordination stopped paying attention to anyone’s opinions, ever.
Before I start ranting about how much SEED sucks, I think I should ramble on about something that has nothing to do with anything, like when I first heard of SEED. When I first heard about a new Gundam series that was like an alternate version of the origional my origional reaction was “Wow, this is going to suck!” But a few months before Bandai started bringing SEED overhere there was a thread with a ton of people talking about how great it is, including Pierson, whose opinion I always respected (Note: respectED), so I decided to give it a try.
I now loathe Pierson with every fiber of my being
Okay, maybe I’m exagerating a little bit, wait, no I’m not, you suck, Pierson! Anyway, the heart of Gundam was always the characters, which is where SEED goes horribly, horribly wrong, and which will be the basis of my inane ranting. As I was a big fan of the origional Mobile Suit Gundam, the best thing about it was the characters , although somewhat stereotypical, they really developed, you could really feel for them, (weeeeeeeeee, commas are fun!) and the way they reacted and changed during the events that happened was so meaningful. The ‘characters’ in SEED, on the otherhand, aren’t characters, they are drawings with no personality whatsoever. Okay, well even the most bland of characters have some personality, but most of the ones in SEED have the bare minimum. Let’s start with the main character, Kira, who, now that I think about it, has no personality whatsoever. His character seems to just feed off the personality of all the characters around him, which is not good, especially considering that he’s always around Flay, who may very well be the single worst character I have ever encountered in any form of entertainment or in any living being. I have not the words to describe her horrible, whiny, utterly illogical, and just plain hatable character. Unfortunatly, most of the focus is on these two characters, which make most of the episodes unbearable. Infact, the only half-decent (and I mean HALF-decent) that i saw were the one that doesn’t have the folks at the archangel until the last half a minute and in which NOTHING happend, and the one that’s just a rip-off one one of the episodes on 08TH Gundam, which also barely
that Kira & co.
Infact, Flay pisses me off so much, I just can’t focus anymore, so this rant is over, and you all suck. =D

Him’s rant gets really good after thirty sentences.
Mecha HQ only has an episode guide for V Gundam
I’m gonna have to re-watch Seed if I want to see Gundam Seed Destiny
<3 SEED
If you haven’t seen at least some of the original series (U.C. 0079), you’re probably going to be left scratching your head if you pick up on a later series in the UC timeline. See, the Earth Federation-Zeon conflict of the original series (referred to from here on as MSG) is referenced in some way by all of the post-MSG series. The timeline for the U.C. is like this:
Mobile Suit Gundam (Series)
08th MS Team (OVA)
0080: War in the Pocket (OVA)
0083: Stardust Memory (OVA)
Z Gundam (Series)
ZZ Gundam (Series)
Char’s Counterattack (Movie)
F91 (Movie)
V Gundam (Series)
Then there are a lot of various side stories packed through-out the timeline, some via video games, others stand-alone mangas or novels.
I’ve yet to see ZZ or V (though I’m in the process of downloading ZZ), I can say, without too much doubt, if you haven’t seen Z you shouldn’t bother with ZZ. As for V, I’m not familiar with it except via the video game based on it , so I can’t say anything about that. I suspect its much the same as the rest of the UC series, though–if you haven’t seen the original, the others aren’t going to make much sense.
As for alternate century series, Gundam X owns.
BELIEVE IN THE SIGN OF ZETA
Hey, its better than “BRIGHT YOU NOW!”.
Is Uso the father of Karlman?
What’s the deal with the clear cockpits? Do they make the pilot vulnerable? Some of the mecha in this series and Char’s Counterattack have them, but not the V or V2, or the mecha in ZZ.
What happened to the beam rotors?
Who are Junko, Odis, and Jinn?
Why does V2 look different in the end? The subtitles say it’s something like “Gunbusters” or “Buster Gundam”
What are the mecha’s names? Those weren’t subbed
Why is Uso a Newtype if he was born on Earth? Are Shakti and Queen Maria Newtypes?
What are Yellow Jackets? What happened to them?
What’s Kassarelia and Camion?
Is Haman dead? Did she die in ZZ?
Has anyone seen V Gundam?
Who’s Kagatie and Kassilo?
What’s Pippnden?
What are the names of all the characters?
What happened to the Shrike team?
How did Uso get V2 Gundam? How did he get the other V Gundam with a girl in it?
What’s the pink haired girl’s name that controls the Guillotine? What’s her sister’s name?
Why is the Guillotine such a big deal? Why does someone say something in the beginning about someone being born from the guillotine
Are you watching non-subbed japanese episodes or something? I suspect that a lot of that is explained over the course of the show.
I may be wrong, but it sounds like you’re just asking every single question after watching the first episode. Try watching the whole thing and most of these will be answered.
I saw the whole thing subbed. I don’t remember some things, and I don’t remember some of the teminology or character’s names
