"Users Browsing" list

I have a question. How does the website figure out the “Users Browsing this Forum” list? I’ve noticed that sometimes, my username appears on the list, even when I’m browsing while not logged in (although I was logged in previously). It happens even if I close my browser and open a different one.

<img src=“http://www.rpgclassics.com/staff/tenchimaru/td.gif”> As soon as you log in, it traces your activity on the boards and constantly updates it. After you log out, it hovers on your last activity (I think, might default to main) for a while before removing you from the list.

What I want to know about the “Users browsing this forum” thing is why are there always several guests viewing the “And the lord was grieved he had man man on earth” (Or something along those lines) thread?

the who’s online function is just another example of the computer AI I’ve installed on the server that monitors everything you say, do or even think once you journey to our website.

RUN WHILE YOU CAN!

That’s what I was wondering, TD. Whether it would just time out, or if it was trying to do something fancy and getting it wrong.
