Update for all my players, etc

I still haven’t been able to get back online full time so my game is dead for now.

I am currently working on a country wide campaign with mostly RP aspects and some hack & slash. The game will consist of puzzles to solve, artifacts to get/assemble, people to rescue, a Keep to aquire as a base of operations, and much more.

I am also rebuilding my world map at the same time to incorperate the new stuff, towns, cities and the Keep you will eventually take possesion of.

if you email me, put RotD: in the subject line so I know it isn’t junk mail as my filter is set to high right now and anyone not on my current list hotmail or on messenger will automatically go to the Junk Folder.

All characters will start off as level 5. Create a character you will care about and not see dead. I want full profiles on the characters this time including a history. We can fill in the geographic info for the character at a later time so you can leave those spots blank in the history.

This campaign will be taken seriously once it starts so I want characters to reflect that. I can create the characters for you but I need you to supply all the info needed for it. eg. race, class, weapons, non-weapons, abilities, phobias if any, specialties, etc. I will concider any character class, race, etc except for the normally evilly aligned ones.

I was even thinking about running 2 seperate campaigns at once. one being the main party and the other working against them. kind of a Good vs. Evil aspect. It would make for an interesting campaign if it can work. Your thoughts??

I am trying to get internet access for november but it may be december or january before I can get it. I haven’t had much luck finding work. That leaves lots of time for us to prepare for this campaign. If I go with the dual campaign I will be looking for around 16 players, for the single campaign it will be between 8 & 10 players.

I’d like to try playing D&D for once. but I don’ have a set period of time that I’m available for. And This one seems a little big for someone who’s never played the game before. If I could get the free time do you have any problems with someone new to D&D but not completely new to stat based roleplays joining?

well, if I don’t have a comp connection by then, I’d like saturday nights. I’ll see about using my father’s comp. It wouldn’t be a late night game though. It would have to end about 11pm, so i’d like an 8pm start (EST)

I’m currently working on about 25 pre-made characters that you can pick from. NO SLUTTS!!!
I don’t want the game revolving around romance, etc. even if there might be some. Female players are welcome.

Video: I don’t have a problem with new players. This game is Role Playing based, so there isn’t much to know right off and there are always Vetren players around to lend a hand.

I am also concidering a co-DM on this project if it gets to be a 2 party game. That means I will have to get a reliable connection to communicate with the other DM and share ideas.

Sunday afternoons might also be a possibility if I don’t have a dedicated connection by December

And will there be a bit more hack and slash on this game than in previous games? One thing that tended to bother me is that we would spend too much time talking, not enough time doing.

I’m not going to go out and spend a couple hundred on new books just to learn a new system. My dedicated connection is a priority along with food and rent.

Like I said before. I may add some 3E elements to the campaign.

And uh, unfortunately, I only have 3e experience/books. Would it be possible for someone to whip in the 2e changes? And what exactly are your character limitations? (number of ability points, etc)

I’ve been playing around with this character idea for a little while, I’ll finish working it out and send you a copy. Since I’m also making it into a short story (I might submit it as a fanfic) I’ll include a fair bit of setting which you can pick up if you like.

I’m preparing an update for the Guild section of my site for the new campaign. All the character requirements/ limitations will be there. I’ll post it next week when I have a little more time online.

I’m thinking of signing up for the sunday night thing. I don’t have anything to help me play though. I’m just going to make a random character. And see how it goes. I should be able to get the time but it’ll be hard.

it’s going to be a new system. It’s probably going to be d20 based.
I still have to work out if I’m going to use the 2E characters or use 3E characters. I’m used to the 2E system but I like alot of the 3E aspects. I’m still ‘Old School’ so I’m not going to go out and drop a couple hundred on new books since I don’t play much IRL. I have some E-Books I’m going to use.
Dark Sand is going to work on it with me since he already knows the system.
