A USB one, to be exact. A Saitek P220. I’ve had it for awhile and it’s never given me any trouble, but all of a sudden, I get no response when I press the D-pad in certain directions. To be specific, down-left or down-right. (It has a sort of circular D-pad.) I tried cleaning it out, but that didn’t seem to do anything. What might cause this kind of thing? Is it fixable? Did the controller just crap out?
At the risk of TD mocking me out for being stupid, I’m going to ask- GG, have you tried to recalibrate it?
I have. The aforementioned buttons don’t respond when I do.
Maybe the contacts for the the down button aren’t hitting their targets properly? It probably just crapped out though.
You own a PS2, right? RadioShack sells a PS2 -> USB adapter for only 9 bucks. Its what i use, and finding cheap PSX/PS2 controllers is way easier than finding cheap PC controllers. Plus, they’re higher quality, and have rumble and dual analog built in.
Logitech makes a great product.
If you don’t care about Analog, you may want to check this one out. It’s very inexpensive.
Otherwise if you do care about analogs, this may be more to your liking.
Americans get this for the Analog version. Previous links were Canadian. If you are Canadian, you can PM me.
For Rumble and Analog (US) (CAN)
Also, I posted the Dell prices because I compared them to Best Buy (Analog) Analog Rumble (Appearantly Best Buy’s Canada site doesn’t have any of these) and they won out. shrug
I got 4 of these cheap for my Xbox turned emulation machine (I kinda sorta put a PC motherboard in there instead). So remember, if you’re Canadian and you think you could use some help getting a gamepad. PM me =D (And no, I make no money off helping you)
