The Second Annual RPGClassics March Madness Challenge

I would like to congratulate my team for reaching the podium. Way to go guys, your efforts will be generously compensated.

And I think that the contestants from other teams should be tested for performance-enhancing substances.

Much like our real-life relationship, GAP is, overall, superior to me, but my freakish fondness for Alligators always leads to my eventual triumph over him.

Good job to everyone involved. I like to think we did well for having no idea what the hell was going on.

984: Among people who actually know shit about basketabll, what score would be considered “Good,” other than just beating everyone you bet against.

A good score is relative to the tournament. This tourny didn’t have many upsets, and there was no real cinderella, UNLV being the closest. Most brackets try to have an okay number of upsets and at least one sweet sixteen/elite eight cinderella. This was the kind of year where picking the higher seed to win every game would unfortunately have been a good strategy.

All of my brackets, though, beat all the team scores. So, I guess a semi-informed but bold bracket should score around 1000 points at least using the scoring standard we used. As an extreme, the winner of this year’s ESPN challenge had 1610 points out of 1680. He missed three first round winners and two second round winners (one of whom lost in the first round); he got every other round perfect.
