I’ve seen this movie a lot. Seen it when it first came out, and many many times there since. But i never noticed one thing about the movie… It’s rated PG. All the violence, all the rape and nudity, and it’s rated PG. not PG-13, but PG ! You’d figure that part where the blond girl get’s almost gand raped would make the movie rated R. But nope. PG.
That’s because it’s a rather old flick, and there’s not too much swearing in it. When the movie first came out, the PG-13 rating didn’t exist.
I know they would sometimes let nudity go if it was non-sexual in nature. but ripping a girls clothes off kinda crosses the line dontcha think ?
Man, thats crazy, I just watched this movie for the first time the other night. Great movie.
I dunno, I’m old enough to watch whatever I want, so I don’t really pay attention to ratings.
Maybe, but then again, a lot of PG-13 movies show partial nudity nowadays.
I don’t remember exactly when the PG- 13 rating was first used, I do know it was in our lifetime.
Back when “Outlaw Josey Wales” first came out, about the only things that warranted an R rating was wanton, gratuitous swearing, violence, and full nudity. The movie Industry has become slightly more prudent these days. Spaceballs had a PG rating and there was three instances where the word fuck was used.
Ohh yeah, it’s one of my favorite westerns. I never really started looking at ratings untill recently.
Now i have to dig out my old Spaceballs VHS. Thanks a lot.
Isn’t the dude who stars in the flic- Outlaw Josey Snails- the guy who just won the academy award for best director- what’s his name Clint A**wood.He is susposidly a big man in hollywierd who can pull or yank a lot of strings so he can get whatever he wants done.so if a rating may hurt one of his flics he can get it rated anything he wants.
Yes, Clint EASTwood starred in The Outlaw Josey Wales. And yes, he is big in Hollywood. However, no, I doubt he goes and pulls strings to get his films rated whatever he wants. Big Dizzy has already pretty much said why it’s rated PG.
