The Medallion

At first, judging by the commercials and low enrgy of the hype, I thought that this was going to turn out to be a really lame Chan flick. But I went to see it anyway.

It turns out that this is actually a Hong Kong based movie, not a US movie. A lot of the movie is set in Ireland so the voiceover work is kept minimal since most of the actors are actually speaking English most of the time.

The movie has some really great and inventive chase and fight scenes. Maybe not so inventive for Chan movies, but still really fun. In between the fights the mood is kept up for some actually funny scenes, but the breaks in between fighting is not that long anyway.

So all in all it’s a Chan movie worth seeing, it’s not spectacular, but it’s fun.

3 out of 4 stars.
