That was quick (N-Gage)

Christ it was just released to, you’d think they would put some kind of system on their games to stop this from happening so damn fast. With that, the taco shape, and having to remove the battery to change games, its like they wanted it to fail.

I think the hackers did it so quick to send a message: Don’t buy this piece of junk :hahaha; .

I Second heh

Actually, I think the system isn’t really all that bad…I mean, what do you expect from a first-generation cell phone/game console/digital player/FM radio? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

My question is: What were they thinking with the design? So far we have seen websites that are up for the sole purpose of making fun of the way you talk into it. Its inconvinient to remove the batteries in order to change the game, and the buttons on the divice are ocwardly placed. These are simple design flaws that could have been taken care of in product testing.

I was expecting something that at least had a halfway decient design.

I think the PS2’s security mechanisms were cracked the day it was launched. I also know Mr. Saturn had a Super Monkey Ball ISO and all that jazz like a day after it came out.

As it stands, the Dreamcast still seems to have the best protection of “next generation” consoles. It took them, what, three years until they could finally play bootleg games?

Actually when you think about the hackers were probably slower then they could have been. Considering, they probably had a lot more important hacker stuff to do before coming to this piece of inadequate technology.

Really Mage, why do you hate the N-Gage? It never did anything to you.

I don’t “hate it” i mean its just like that uncle in your family that won’t get a job, and just sits around and drinks Papst blue ribbon all day

Yeah, I got me one of those.

They thought it would sell simply because it wasn’t a Nintendo Gameboy. That’s probably the only reason why they have sold any all. Beyond those who bought it to test it.

laughs at the cell-phone companys

“Nokia (NOK: Research, Estimates) has high hopes for N-Gage, aiming to sell between six and nine million units before the end of 2004 as it challenges market leader Nintendo’s Gameboy Advance.”

I’m not sure “challenge” is an appropriate word.

I agree with Sil. The people at nokia are smoking good shit.

Actually 984, the newer Dreamcasts (That didn’t require boot discs) have absolutely no copy protection at all :stuck_out_tongue:

That may be true, but it still took 3 years to crack the DC to allow people to play bootleg games, SG.

The GamePark32 suffered from just as stupid a design and just as bad games, but as soon as the hackers cracked the code and made it possible to write games for the system, it made the massive import price worth it. Perhaps with the possibilty of homebrew games the NGage will be worth its massive price and overcome its shortcomings.

i dont think homebrew games are any incentive to buy some shittily made, weird handling, glorfied cell phone with a screen smaller than a postage stamp.
