Thanksgiving Thread

What do you have to give thanks for?

This isn’t a religious thread. Just tell us what things you are grateful for, if you feel like it. We all should always take at least a moment to list down the things we are happy for. Helps to remember them during those so not-so-happy moments.

ME:

-I’m grateful I exist in the first place. Meaning, my life has never sucked enough for me to wish I was never born.

-I’m glad I was born in Puerto Rico. It’s been a unique experience, standing right between American and Latino cultures.

-I give thanks for my family. They may have never TRULY understood me, but hey, I AM pretty weird. And they ALWAYS gave me their love and support notheless.

-I give thanks for all my friends, particularly the Almodovar family. Who’d thunk that I would ever befriend the “class bully” (not really) much less that his family would become as close to me as my own? I learned the value of TRUE friendship from them.

-I am grateful I eventually grew up out of the selfish funk I had growing up. I realize now, that many people never do.

-And I give thanks that I found RPGC, a place where I was finally understood and accepted. No, I’m NOT being sarcastic.

THANKS.

I don’t celebrate thanksgiving, but meh…

Hmmm…
steals #1, #3 and #6 from Wil’s list

I’m grateful that Wil wrote those three so I don’t have to write them down too. :stuck_out_tongue:

I would say that we can all be grateful that there are people making DAMN good games for us to play, otherwhise RPGC wouldn’t have existed. :stuck_out_tongue:

But to actually be serious…

I’m sending a big Thank You to Weiila, if it weren’t for her I wouldn’t have gotten the confidence to actually show anyone the things I’ve written.

And I’m grateful that I have lots of other friends too, but it would take too long to list them all by name, so “Ingen nämnd, ingen glömd.” (No one mentioned(/named), no one forgotten.)

I’m thankful that I’m a good natured, well rounded, morally sound intelligent male. If there’s anybody up there, thanks; because looking around the world, what I have is a gift.

I’m thankful for my friends. The good ones at least. I’ve had some shitty friends, and the ones that I really consider friends of mine are people worth thanking - if only for existing.

I’m thankful for my mother. She’s been through so much in her life, and she had the will to raise a proud, morally sound and well rounded son - even in the face of all his stupid mistakes.

I’m thankful for my father for making me the man I am today. People have heard me bitch about my father for years around here - he was not a good father, but I know he did some things right. And perhaps the rotten way he treated me has had some positive after effects.

Also steals 1, 3, & 6 from Wil

-I give thanks for my cats

-I give thanks for being able to live in the same nice city I was born in even and go to the same school that I’ve been in since 1st grade after moving twice.

-I give thanks for getting to eat Thankgiving dinner at my best friends house

I give thanks that my Thanksgiving is before yours! Ah ha!

:kissy:

I give thanks that we had peace with the Indians on this day. Then we slaughtered them like cattle. ^^

I always celebrate in the traditional way. We gather all our friends and family, have a huge feast, then kill them and take their land.

Anydangway…I’m thankfull for all the usual stuff, friends, family, etc.

And also for this place right here. I don’t know what I’d do without it.

Im thankful to be able to be here today, with all of you.

for my family, my girl, my cat, and my computer.

I’m thankful for having stayed alive long enough to care again. And here.

I am thankful to the powers that be for the incredible change that happened in my life about a month ago. I am grateful, too, for all I am learning these days.

Thanks

1: My family and friends.
2: My pets, i have got two of the nicest guinea pigs you will ever see.
3: My gift of humor and intelligence.
4: That I found this place.

Technology. It lives so that I don’t have to.

[li]Passing all my finals with outstanding grades.
[/li][li]Three months vacation. I’M FREE BITCHES!
[/li][li]Relatively healthy family.
[/li][li]Upcoming acquisition of a PS2. Only five months to go…
[/li][li]My IRL friends. Yeah, I have some of those. Quite a shocker, huh?.
[/li][li]And above all: My mother for sustaining me and keeping half of my family away from each other’s throats, even trough her own crisis.
[/li][/ul]

I’m thankful that my parents give me a lot of choices in my life.
So basically, I love having the parents I have

I gave thanks for the following things on 11 October (this year’s Canadian Thanksgiving):

  1. Mother Earth for providing the foods and drinks for the feast. I was especially thankful for all of the meat and dairy products which I ate then, because it takes so much energy to produce them.
  2. My loving family and our good health.
  3. Having a good home and living in a first-world country which is peaceful; being not born into poverty.
  4. Myself: my goals, my opportunities, and my talents amongst other things

Personally, I think of my celebration of Thanksgiving as a pagan Germanic harvest holiday, and I basically just thank spirits of the natural world.

I do not celebrate the coming of Europeans to the Americas and the destruction of Native American cultures.

~My parents, without them I’d not be where I am right now.
~Digipen, I’m thankful that I was accepted into such a demanding school to persue my dream career in animation.
~Sin, cause I had to suck up again.
~Blizzard, cause World of Warcraft rocks my little world…
~My new kitty cat, Arthas. (yes, we named him Arthas)
and finally
~Chapstick, this shit comes in handy durring winter… gah, my lips are chapped!

But who do you thank?

Oh, and yes, eat fish. It rocks turkey.

I give thanks for a LOT of things. But the most importantant for me are:

  1. My life.

  2. My family.

  3. My friends.

I give thanks for ALL I’ve got.

I give thanks that I am less than a 100 hours away From my 21st Birthday. (30 Nov, St. Andrews Day)

That I don’t have a Bloke in charge of my country.

Big Nutter
And the fact I’m not celebrating it but Getting cash and discovering that Megaman V Comand Misson has sold out in store nearby, all 3 copys!!!
