Super Metroid

Ok, I have a question to anyone who’s good at Super Metroid.

My best time for 100% completion as of now is 1 hour 59 minutes. (Finally broke the 2 hour mark.)

I’m looking for any tricks to cut down this time, since it’s apparently quite doable in 1 hour 35 minutes, but I really don’t see how I could be 24 minutes quicker.

I’m already using the easy Wave Beam trick (wall jump instead of using the Grapple to get it way early). Are there any more little tricks that would save time? (Perhaps the wall jump to Power Bomb trick to get them before fighting Kraid, but that’s really hard to pull off and might waste more time than it saves)

But anyway, if anyone has some speeding up advice (namely people who have done better than 1:59) could you give it to me?

Holy shitake…I’m pretty damn good at the game, but I’ve never gotten 100% completion, let ALONE in less than two hours! :hyperven:

bows down to Sohee

My brother’s gotten 100% in under a 1:30 on multiple occasions… I don’t know if he has any secrets, other than having the entire game pretty much memorized, and running everywhere. I’ll ask him and edit this post if he has anything relevent to say about it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Okie.

Must become best Super Metroider ever…

On a slightly off-topic note, I recenty found a romhack of Super Metroid that lets you play as Samus sans armor, just like the old Justin Bailey code. And let me tell you, it’s VERY well-done. I think it’s avalible at Zophar’s, but that’s not where I got it.
