I installed Vista and now my sound doesn’t work. Any suggestions on how to fix it? When I go to the device manager it has the exlamation mark next to my sound card.
Vista uses DirectX 10, which has completely changed for how Windows deals with Sound Cards. A lot of people have been having problems with their sound cards since installing Vista. Try checking the tech support for the manufacturer of your Sound Card, odds are a lot of other people are having the same problem.
On the plus side, DirectX 10 makes onboard sound much nicer!
Thanks GM. I don’t know if it was the downloading DirectX or finally finding the right driver (I found a beta on a website), but I finally got my sound up. Now I just have a minor problem that I need to figure out.
