Some songs needed. :>

'kay. I need some good ambience. No lyrics, no nothing.

I don’t have any examples, but if you had Vermillion (<B>PART TWO</B>) by Slipknot, but without the lyrics, that’d be sort of like what I want.

So, something like, sad, yet fast and has a metal feel to it; but no lyrics. Strictly no lyrics. I don’t know if there is a genre for music without lyrics. So if you know, shoot.

So uh, list away.

Sin knows what I’m talking about.

Instrumental.

And by those large, cryptically bold-yet-link-empty letters Hades means this:

Not all of us can read jappo :frowning:

Seriously though, just click on mp3 on the menu and get EVERYTHING.

Those silly Jappos!

Dude, it’s fuckin’ awesome!!!

Metal with no lyrics? My boy, there are plenty of instrumentals.

“To Live Is To Die” - Metallica
“Losfer Words (Big 'Orra)” - Iron Maiden
“Transylvania” - Iron Maiden (highly reccommended)
“Ghenghis Khan” - Iron Maiden
“Susperia” - Goblin (also highly reccommended)

That’s all I can really think of for now.

I can add a few.

Orion - Metallica

A band you should check out for instrumental metal

Man or Astro Man?

Can’t remember the name of the track right now, but track 9 from Scenes From A Memory - Dream Theater.

Cover Medley - Dream Theater(Instrumental medley of cover songs)

If you want a really good instrumental get Pipeline by Agent Orange.

Metallica - The Call of Ktulu

Apocalyptica - any song without “Vol. 2” in its name. (since all the Vol. 2 songs have lyrics)

I wasn’t aware there was such a thing as “sad metal”. Anyway, as Hades said, the best instrumental metal is SSH. I wouldn’t necessarily call it ambient though >_>. The castlevania mix, the FFVI battle, zeromus, Fighting of the Spirits and Lufia are very nice.

I can’t read the characters, Sin, so could you point me out to the Castlevania Mix?

Use babel fish to help you translate some of the titles (it doesn’t work perfectly) and look at the download name when you hover over the link of a song. It mind have a name along the lines of travel demon megamix.

There isn’t. Where’d you get that from? Doom can be pretty depressing at times, and so can other slow bands like Type O Negative, but there’s no sad metal.

Instrumentals eh?

Venom - Mayhem With Mercy
Megadeth - Into The Lungs of Hell
Metallica - The Call of Ktulu
Metallica - Orion
Metallica - To Live Is To Die (it has some words in it though)
Death - Cosmic Sea
Iron Maiden - Transylvania
Iron Maiden - The Ides Of March
Iron Maiden - Ghengis Khan
Iron Maiden - Losfer Words (Big Orra)
Anthrax - The Belly Of The Beast
Emperor - The Wanderer (fucking AWESOME!)
In Flames - Dialogue With The Stars
Witchery - Hearse of the Pharaohs

certain songs repeated due to awesomeness.

Awesome. I meant mad metal. Not sad, typographical error. Mad as in, awesome. >>;

I think “Fade to Black” and “One” by Metallica could both be classified as “sad metal”, in that they’re both metal, and they’re both pretty sad (two suicide songs, basically).

A lot of stuff from the Symphony of the Night soundtrack is really good ambience, but not quite “metal”, but sort of fast and “mad” or whatever. Try “Festival of Servants”, “Enchanted Banquet”, “The Tragic Prince”, “Death Ballad”, “Black Banquet”… and… uh… ESPECIALLY “I Am the Wind”. >_>

I’d say Fade to Black is a power ballad, in a way, and One…well I don’t know, it’s kind of a power ballad too.

More like a SUICIDE ballad.

I tend to associate power ballads more with Hair Bands than Thrash Metal.
