Because if Snake were to die in Russia its likely that they wouldn’t recover his body and Metal Gear would’ve become active and the US woulda went BOOM. So the events in MG and so forth probably wouldn’t have happened. Duh.

Okay, because of Setz’s actions based on his actions taken in the past, his death changes our timeline because had he not gone back in time, he would not have killed himself in our time.
“This affects the timeline in what way?” you might ask.
Well, had the second timeline (Epic’s creation) not happened, neither would the one we’d lived in (Setz’s repair). Because the creator of the new timeline died, that throws out both of the other timelines due to his abscence from them.

What I meant, is that, if I were to go back in time to kill myself, assuming that if I go back in time, I take the form of another human of the same properties as myself, so a duplicate; and not just re-inhabit my old self, and killed the other me, assuming the other me is an actual person, and not myself, would my future self cease to exist 'cause my past self is dead? If so, then how would I be able to actually go back in time to kill myself, if I’m already dead.
Your time travel scenarios don’t make any sense.

No safe way to travel back in time because you could end up in a person or a car plus earth is always moving so you’d end up in a different spot: I guess there’s also no safe way to drive a car because the other cars are always moving so depending on the time it takes you to drive somewhere you could crash or not crash! Or maybe you can just travel through space while traveling through time. Except the time travel part is a bit more noteworthy whereas traveling through space is rather mundane, so let’s just assume your time travel device can also make you travel through space?

Going back in time 3 minutes would fill the world with an infinite amount of you going back in time 3 minutes: First there is one of you. Then your future self arrives. Then you go back in time. At most there are two of you. Of course we could create scenarios with more than two of you, but I can’t imagine a way to create an uncontrollable influx of time travelers.

Both Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle as well as the No Cloning Theorem make it next to impossible for you to make a duplicate of yourself.

No, no, no, I meant that let’s say 5 minutes ago, I was in a park, then now, I am in my house. If I went back in time 5 minutes, assuming I end up back in my house, and walked over to that park; I’d see another one of me. That’s what I meant by a duplicate.
In that case, based on what you said, you could indeed see yourself. It’s if another one of yourself chooses to go back in time once again that would cause the problem you’re talking about.
Edit: Even then, I highly doubt an infinite number of you would appear. This is because, by that rationale, no matter what stretch of time you go back, that would happen anyway (by what you’re saying)
I’d imagine the cosmos exploding if such a procedure were to happen. There are rumors if it’s possible to go back in time, and you have contact with your past/future self, the balance of the world distorts, and the universe crumbles. So, going back in time 3 minutes, would mean each person going back’d be in the same spot. And, since it’s infinite, there’d be massive catastrophe.
