Way to ruin a good joke, Setz.
…joke?
Sorry if I ruined it; I just HAD to have the first two strips. The third one was stupid; I admit it. And it doesn’t fit in at all.
First off, you misunderstand the idea of a time paradox. By going back in time and killing, say me, you create a time paradox, but then the time paradox involving Pierson would never happen. He continues to live like “fate” dictates, rather then be shot and create a TIME PARADOX.
Secondly, I never said it was me who shot him.
Thirdly, PLAGIARISM!!! (you suck).
I assumed you were the one whom killed him, considering you, the poster, created the image. And, I never said you actually killed him. I killed you, and somehow your involvement with the killer made the killer never show up, keeping Pierson alive. Which destroys the purpose of me killing you in the first place; making a continuous loop ultimately ending in the cosmos being anhilated.
Or, uh, someone not affiliated with Epic in anyway killed Pierson. Have fun with your Jump… To Conclusions Mat.
Or, Setz, your action created a seperate outcome to your timeline, thereby negating any effects on any other timelines. Who says all of time has a definite path that, when one portion is changed, the rest of it must also be changed?
Not really, Pierson wasn’t supposed to die in the first place, so if he doesn’t die, no paradox is created. Now, by killing me, that creates a seperate time paradox entirely, purpose has no effect and creates no loop. A time paradox is just the redoing of so called scripted or “fated” events as history dictates, and here you just prevent one time paradox from ever occuring and create a completly different one. Now that’s considering that time travel in itself isn’t scripted into the grand scheme of things, because if it is, no paradoxes would occur in the first place, and history meant for an event to happen. Or that is not true, and by going back in time we could create a paradox, and possibly create a break in space-time, either creating an alternate time line, or in fact, destroying the universe. In theory, time travel in itself is a paradox, just by stepping into a time period where you don’t belong could create dire conquences. Something as simple as making an imprint in the ground when you walk, or blocking a tiny amont of wind could drasticly alter the cource of history (or create an alternate time line, whatever).
Like Homer sitting on that fish. “Oh I wish I wish I hadn’t squished that fish.”
Exactly, but my point is that just by being in that time, even the amount of air he displaced could possibly create a paradox and change history.
I’m amazed by what ripping-off a joke from Chugworth Academy can result into.
Chugworth Acadamy has got nothing on me.
Epic, time-travel is a paradox if you think about it. Let’s say I went back in time 3 minutes ago, and commit suicide, then that means I wouldn’t be alive to go back in time to kill myself. Which means I would be able to go back in time, which means I would kill myself, and repeat the cycle.
Again Setz, in that case your existance from the point you kill yourself ceases to exist and everything after that changes. The future were you existed is erased and replaced for another one.
Hm… I guess you’re right.
Then how do paradoxes exist in MGS3? I mean, if Snake dies, then a new future awaits. And Les Enfants Terribles might still occur, from taking DNA from Snakes’ body.
From the way Setz wrote his first post, I took it that he went back in time, and killed the himself who went back. I see no paradox there.
And Setz, did you not read what Epic posted. It said what you said, only well, better.
Looks like someone hasn’t seen any of the “Back to the Future” movies.
There is no safe way to travel back in time. You could appear inside of a person or car. Plus since the Earth moves you would end up in a different spot depending on how far you travel back.
I saw part 1 & 2. What I was saying, is what if I went back into time, say, 3 minutes ago. There’d be an infinite number of Setz’ there. Think of it. Which would overpopulate the earth in a fraction of a fraction of a second, and the earth would explode.
That wasn’t very nice. =/
But it did have pretty colors
