Jab’s right, as he always seems to be. Most households do seem to cater to the conditioning of sex being wrong. Either the parents have some sort of moral disambiguate for sex (IE it’s wrong), and so do many others in the community. It just proliferates from there, essentially.

It’s a cultural thing. North America tends to be very oppressive when it comes to nudity and sex (even though provocative ads are becoming more and more common). Europe and Asia are much more open-minded about it. It probably has a lot to do with Christianity as the main religion.

Yes, there is also Christianity in North America, but there are also parents, sensational media(i.e News that emphasizes the exceptional), and laws (indecency laws, and censorship of bad words(which mostly “sexual”) by the FCC) .
I’m curious. In the US, there are “age of concent” laws that vary by state. Are the equivelant laws in other countries that restrict when younger people can have sex?
Over here, you’re pretty much free to do anything you wish when you’re sixteen, but you’re still a minor, so keep that 18+ boy/girlfriend off you.

Sex and violence are viewed as entertainment because they’re an outlet to express ourselves. As long as people just have fun with it (and not take it seriously), it is promoting love among people.
I think there are just as many positive things as negative things used for entertainment. Everything is entertainment, really.
Sex for pleasure is real big in entertainment, but sex for procreation is too. How many TV shows have pregnant characters? Like every sitcom. All those chick flicks that revolve around marriage and having kids. Not to mention real shows like Maternity Ward on Discovery. Plus, in America, people are obsessed with celebrity pregnancies. That is entertainment to a lot of people.
Sure there are a lot of shows that include a lot of violence and destruction, but there are also shows that focus on kindness and creation. The best example I can give for that is Exteme Home Makeover. If you’ve never heard of it, they take families in need and completely remake their houses. They create a new home out of kindness. And that show gets rediculous ratings.
And the Movie Jag är nyfiken didn’t help much either. Good movie by the way.
