Without releasing any spoilers, what characters do you think have the best plot throughout the game? I’m trying to decide who to select and I’d prefer not to miss out on some good backstory.
Well, if you’re looking for backstory, don’t play Kevin. His is rather trite (although admittedly he is cool). Same with Duran. Methinks the best would be Angela or Carlie.
Meh, Kevin is going in simply because he can use shields and he has his own spell…after some debate, it’ll be Kevin, Carlie and Lise.
Duran uses shields. And isn’t it only once he gets to a certain class?
Yeah, Duran can use shields in his Light classes. Kevin is the best physical fighter in the game, though.
I got stuck halfway through in a part which requires me to level up quite a bit to be able to lay the smack down on enemies. I HATE leveling up. >_<
Levellingcan be a pain areally. but Kevin does kick so much ass. Especaillyw with almost twice as many B-Moves, his doubel attack, and the fact that he just ROCKED at night.
My SD3 games were almost universally nighttime.

I went all light Angela, Carlie, and Hawk. I rocked.

That’s my favorite group! Exactly that order too! How many of you have tried entering Duran’s home with him and Angela in the group? Hehehehe!
Personally I use Duran, Keven and Lise. Lise has the stat boosting abilities when sent up the light side and Kevin and Duran heal when sent up the light side. So thats my ideal team. That and I think Duran has the best storyline along with Angela.
I am currently playing with Angela, Lise, and Carlie.
Predictably, I’m getting Angela to Magus, Lise to Star Lancer, and Carlie to Necromancer. Its pretty much the only team that would work with those three (that I can think of at the moment).
I have yet to find a use for Hawk’s Wanderer class- would someone tell me how one would use him to some sort of effect?
Also- don’t play SD3 for the story. Why? The story sucks. All six character’s stories sucks. The only reason one would play this game is for the gameplay and the replayability.
<img src=“http://www.rpgclassics.com/staff/tenchimaru/td.gif”> I rather like Kevin/Angela/Carrie. Nice, generic, balanced. And if you decide to make Kevin go light, you can develop Carrie on the dark path, which has some very interesting classes.
I used Hawk, Kevin, and Lise. Make Hawk a Nightblade, Kevin a God Hand, and Lise a Star Lancer.
I can’t go without Angela. I just NEED the magic.
So far I’ve done:
Kevin, Angela, Carrie
Hawk, Angela, Duran
Hawk, Angela, Lise (My fave)
I never really used the magic. Just have Duran cast his Elemental Sword techs and Lise boost the stats of your team and if you use the proper elemental advantage you go from doing like 50 to 3-400.
