Hmm, I’ve actually got a photocopied version of his essay on existentialism somewhere (unless I’ve accidently recycled it with my other 12th grade English notes).

As for being against religion, I imagine that it has something to do with the uselessness of such a thing in a universe where there is no God/gods. It is a distraction and a waste of time based on the idea that you need someone else to help you, while the ideal existentialist is able to take productive action of their own accord.
