RPGMaker 2000 question...

I know. I just wanted to explain it to him step-by-step…

I’m talking to Dante :stuck_out_tongue:

<< >> <_< …I knew that.

Cless: When I do that, when the game starts up, the character isn’t there. ???

How does that help?

The green box is the party start position, and the Event is the little colored box with the picture of the guy inside. I thought you meant the NPC or the hero doesn’t appear, so I thought I’d clarify that you would have to set both of these things.

Do this:

  1. Go read a switch tutorial (check http://www.gamingw.net)

after you’re done with that…

  1. Create two pages for your NPC that’s joining the party. Make the first page the one that the player initially sees, and make the second page be blank (the upper left chip graphic), and should have for it’s appearance conditions a switch.

  2. When they talk to the party, run the event as has been described above. For it’s last action, have it turn the switch on. This will make it vanish.

I’m so confused… The NPC won’t appear.

EDIT: oops, didn’t see ya there Rast. Will do.

If you never figure it out, PM Ryoto the Slayer, he knows how to do it, in RM2K3 anyways.

OK do this step by step, create the dialogue and stuff then hit new page, create a switch called GuyJoins then add at the end of the event on the first page to change switch to GuyJoins. Go to page 2, and tick the box that says ‘on switch’ or something and choose the GuyJoins switch from the drop down menu and on the second page change the animation to the very first piece from the chipset that should be blank. Done.

Wow, it worked. Thanks.

 : Yes, I have returned! MAAAA!

So, Dante, when will there be a demo for this?
