I’ve been looking for the title of a song for about six or seven years now. It has a soft string instrument going while some guy goes “ooooooooh oooooh oooooh ooooooooooh” repeatedly, and it reminds me a bit of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” Anyway, that description confuses people more than it helps them figure out what song I’m looking for, so I’m lucky that the song’s being used in a Rice Kripies commercial airing right now. So, I’d ask, for anyone in the States - keep an eye out for me, and if you happen to hear this song and know the title, please please let me know what it is. This is probably my longest-lasting frustration music-wise aside from my inability to find the lyrics to the “It’s Raining” polka.
Have you tried wikipedia?
Is that it, or have I got the wrong song?
Peter, Paul & Mary - It’s raining
It’s raining, it’s pouring, the old man is snoring
Bumped his head and he went to bed
and he couldn’t get up in the mornin’
Rain rain, go away, come again some other day.
(Spoken)
“Hey I got an idea … we could all play hide and go seek inside,
now everybody hide and I’ll be it!”
Star light, star bright,
first star I see tonight,
wish I may, wish I might,
have the wish I wish tonight.
It’s raining, it’s pouring, the old man is snoring
Bumped his head and he went to bed
and he couldn’t get up in the mornin’
Rain rain, go away, come again some other day.
Five Ten Fifteen Twenty.
Twenty-five Thirty. Thirty-Five Forty.
Lady Bug, Lady Bug, fly away home.
Your house is on fire, and your children,
they will burn, They will burn.
It’s raining, it’s pouring, the old man is snoring
Bumped his head and he went to bed
and he couldn’t get up in the mornin’
Rain rain, go away, come again some other day.
Forty-Five Fifty. Fifty-five Sixty.
Sixty-five Seventy. Seventy-five eighty.
Won’t be my father’s Jack,
no I won’t be my mother’s Jill,
I’ll be a fiddler’s wife and fiddle when I will.
It’s raining, it’s pouring, the old man is snoring
Bumped his head and he went to bed
and he couldn’t get up in the mornin’
Rain rain, go away, come again some other day.
Eighty-Five, Ninety. Ninety-five, a Hundred.
(Spoken) Anyone round my base is it! Ready or not, here I come!
(Spoken) Allee Allee In Free!
No. That’s not it. It starts,
“It’s raining, it’s raining,
Like on the night we met”
I think you’re thinking of Hawaiin musician Iz’s cover of Somewhere over the Rainbow.
The Ooohs are kind of slow, and a little high, right?
I dont’ watch enough TV to know commercials, but a lot of ooohs, and reminding you of Somewhere over the Rainbow seems like a good candidate.
Do you own a dog named “Bingo” by chance?
My guess is no.
Hmmm, I’m not sure what you’re talking about, but surely I can find that commercial on tv pretty soon.
